Happy Leap Day!!

Date: Feb 29th

Happy Leap Day!!

Of course we always have some pics of Laiklyn screaming.
She took her shoe off and couldn't get it back on!

For Leap Day 2016 we decided to celebrate the extra day
with something new that we've never done!
We hit up
Monster Bubbles!

Nothing like running around in human size hamster balls!
The kids had a BLAST rolling around and smashing into each other!!

And while the human hamsters were rolling around the arena,
Ryan and I took turns entertaining this busy body!

Her first crush!
She kept hugging and kissing Garfield! lol

We finally drug everyone out of the balls.
Let's just say they were all messy haired and sweaty!
But honestly that was way harder than it looked to push that ball around.
I lasted about 5 mins before I was sore and tired! lol

Then we grabbed dinner and headed on home!
It was a Leap Day to remember!
At least for 4 years until the next one!

Backyard Gazebo

Back on Valentine's weekend
we started building the new gazebo!
(or what I justified as a family Valentine's gift!)

Ryan's dad was with us for the weekend so I figured it was perfect timing
then he can be the assistant slave instead of me! lol
And I'm sure he's much more mechanically inclined too.

The kids and I supervised and played in the mid 80 degree weather!

Hey at least we were good helpers to keep getting them drinks and slushies!

Then a few days later Ryan, Tim and I installed the roof.
Now that was a beast!!
I see why the directions said to have at least 4 adults for assembly.

The next morning I took a couple phone pics of the finished product!

Another project on my side yard remodel can now be checked off! :)

President's Day

Date: Feb 15th

President's Day was spent nonstop playing outside.
It was actually windy in the morning.
Which is a rare treat for us.
So we busted out the kites and walked to the park.

I quickly learned I was severely outnumbered.
I spent the whole time running between Anden and Taylee fixing their kites
while racing back to catch Laiklyn from running into
the street or trees or bushes or fence or desert or rocks or back to the street!

As we were loading up a huge gust of wind came through
and blew Taylee's kite off the stroller and right into her.
We busted up laughing as it was stuck to her
in the perfect position!

And there's this kid who is into EVERYTHING all of the time!!!
She really is the Boss Babe!
She runs this town.

We grabbed Wendy's for lunch
and ate back at home.
Laiklyn was thrilled to sit up to the table without her tray.
She really is becoming such a big kid!

Then Taylee went to a friend's house while Laiklyn napped!
Finally some peace and quiet for me and Anden!

Their vacation day quickly ended though when they realized
they still had to go to football and soccer practice that night!
"C'mon Mom! No school means no practices too!"
