Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!

Anden's Birthday Week can now be officially over.

We topped off the birthday festivities with a trip to see the
Arizona Cardinals vs Denver Broncos!

The boys were in heaven!
Anden loves the Cardinals.
Will loves the Broncos.

This was a big splurge on a school night
(8pm game! Ouch!)
But it was well worth it!

The boys beaming with excitement on the way in!

They stuffed their faces with popcorn and peanuts all night!
(Ok so maybe Anden ate 90% of the HUGE popcorn himself!)

Yes we did leave at halftime
and still didn't get to bed until 10pm!
So maybe the boys are sleeping in school today
but at least we had a blast!

Anden's SIX!

August 28, 2012
My firstborn turns SIX years old!
How did this happen??!
He was MORE than ready to join his fellow 6 yr old friends.

Oddly he slept in that morning!
So me and Taylee had to sneak in and wake him up!
The Birthday Fairy comes every year and puts streamers up on the bedroom door
and downstairs!
So we was thrilled to see that first!

We hurried and got dressed for school.
So we could spend the rest of the time opening presents!

Even Grandma Furniss joined in the "Mario" birthday theme
and mailed him this hit of a gift!

If you notice,
Anden has now received lots of Nintendo 3DS accessories...
so of course he was begging for his final present.
In order to extend the excitement,
I sent him on a treasure hunt with clues to the final gift!

After the kids raced all over the house to get the next clue,
we finally ended at
"A place that has fire contains a mystery box on top"
(fireplace..for those slow ones out there! lol)

I had used this box for decoration for his party.
So I slit it open from the bottom afterwards and hid the coveted DS inside.

Anden knew exactly what Mario does to mystery boxes
and tried to head butt the box! lol

We told him to punch the box instead!

And the "mystery" gift
(that he knew EXACTLY what it was!)
came out!

This was a big stretch for me.
I'm not a fan of video games and how it sucks the brains out of kids.
But he literally has begged for it for 6 mos.
It's the only thing in his puny little life that he's had to wait for.
And somehow every single stinking kid he knows has one!
Seriously?!
Since when did it become standard for a 3+ yr old
to own their own $200 game system?!?!

But he patiently waited for 6 mos and watched all of his friends play theirs.
So I figured that he had learned his "life lesson" on this one.
And he was rewarded for his patience!

So we hurried and ate breakfast
then headed to school with our class treats in tow!

He selected "Ding Dongs" for his class. lol
Which of course I had to add a custom label to each.
(I know, I'm overboard! lol)

After school, we headed straight to

(yes with all my planning I left my nice camera in my car and we rode with Holly! ugh)

The kids had an
ABSOLUTE BLAST!
The sweat pouring down their bodies to go along with their new bruises and scrapes
proved their love of Jumpstreet!

Anden said his favorite part was the maze.
They had a monitor on the outside where you could watch your kids
aimlessly wander in circles and panic.
Good times! lol
(Anden & Will in lower corner)

Is that bad I took a picture before I went in and rescued them?

What an action packed day!
That's how we roll in our family!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!!

Party Crasher

So there's always one mishap, or six, when you're hosting a party.
This time it was something I've never encountered.

As we were waiting for all the party guests to arrive,
the kids ran outside to play.
Some were on the trampoline, others on the swing set.
I hear a scream from the backyard,
"EEEEWWHHHHH!!"

I calmly and casually bolted over there as to not alarm the other pint sized guests.
And right underneath one of the swings
was the leftover scraps of a freshly devoured bird.
Awesome.

Apparently my pet Bobcat decided to crash the party the previous night.
Of course I haven't seen him in my backyard since January.
So I wanted to thank him for returning just in time
and leaving such a thoughtful present for Anden's party.

I think Lucy is scarred.
Of course it would be one of the two girls to find the leftover feast.
The boys, on the other hand, thought it was super cool.

So I discreetly grabbed some gloves and heaved the
thanksgiving scraps over the back fence.
While my girlfriends laughed.

Seriously folks,
I live in a  master planned community.
How does this stuff find it's way into my yard?!?!

More Party Pics!

The kids all had SO much fun!
And so did the adults!
I felt like it was my party.
Since 3 of my very best friends stayed to play too!

First we played
Pin the Mustache on Mario.
Birthday boy took his turn first.

And miraculously put the mustache in the exact PERFECT spot.

Knowing my child,
I inspected the blindfold afterwards
and yep he could see right through it! lol

So we adjusted that for the rest of the kids!

Then we busted out the Mario & Luigi costumes!
And of course I had to make "Princess Peach" hats for the girls!
They all looked sooo adorable! lol

Finally we moved outside to the HUGE inflatable waterslide!!

They were literally bouncing off the walls with excitement.
And spent the majority of the party living it up
(aka beating each other up)
on the waterslide!

Logan, Will, Michael, Anden

Noah, Collin

Taylee
(I asked her to smile...this is what I got!)

They would literally spill out the exit and race back around to do it all over again!

(um SORRY Gage! lol)

Then we took a break for a picnic lunch!

Clearly Will couldn't resist the temptation during the picture! lol

Finally it was Anden's FAVORITE part of the party,
Present Time!

Ashley, Tracy

Eventually we moved our way inside for cupcakes and singing!

Then we continued playing until parents arrived!

(lol love how Anden is literally perched on the table assembling new toys!)

I hope you had a FABULOUS party Anden!
Love my boy!
