Eastlie - 18 Months Update

Date: Apr 21st

Yes you read that correctly.
My baby is already 18 months old!!!
How the heck did that happen?!

She's still just adorable and deliciously chubby and sweet!
I could literally nibble on her! lol
Her big blue eyes sparkle and light up everyone around her.
Her huge smile and giggle make my insides burst with happiness!
She's such a pure joy to our family!

However we have also hit the 18 month
"I am now a full blown adult and can do what I want when I want" stage.
Combined with never ending teething...trying to say the least!
But after I corral the latest fit,
she's right back to giggling and giving constant smiles and loves.
Somehow she's immediately forgiven from trying to run down the street on her own.

So here's a few 18 month stats:

Height: 2 (91%)
Weight: 28 lbs (97%)
(yes Ryan and I apparently produce huge children!)

And yes she's just like all our other children and is a motor mouth talker already!

Here's her current daily vocabulary:

Momma
Dadda
Tay Tay
Anden
Waiky
Sissy (also for Laiklyn)
Easwee
Hi
(she is a social bug and LOVES telling any and everyone hi! literally says hi to everyone at every store/restaurant!)
Hello
(if she can't catch a stranger's attention with HI she'll move on to the more proper term of HELLO!)
Ba Bye
Please
Help Please
Thank You
(this is one of her favorites and she says it SO loud all the time! lol even during church when the sacrament is passed around! The whole congregation just laughs at her politeness!)

and basically any other person's name that frequents our house!

She's already combining a few words to speak in short sentences too.
Such a cutie even though she can totally boss us around now! lol

She'll repeat any word perfectly that we tell her to say.
The other day Ryan had her say the entire alphabet! So cute!
At this rate she'll be recognizing all her letters before Laiklyn! lol

Another one of the joys of turning 18 months,
Eastlie is now in Nursery class at church!!
Hallelujah!
No more chasing her down the halls all during church!
Of course she was an angel and cruised into class like a veteran.
(let's be real she's literally been breaking down the door gate for months trying to get in! lol)
The teachers adore her sweet fun easy going personality.
She didn't even shed a tear or cling to us.
She just ran on in! lol
Although it did make me feel missed and love to hear the first week
she was at the gate yelling "momma, momma are you?" for a bit.
A friend overheard her and told me!
Ok I haven't been replaced after all! ;)

Eastlie is literally the sunshine in our days!
We just love this wee one so much!
Even if we have had to replace the pantry doorknob to a locking knob,
remove everything out of lower drawers that don't have current child locks,
repack my purse/diaper bag contents 5396 times,
permanently close gates in the house to corral her from wrecking havoc elsewhere,
sprint after her in countless situations,
man handle her into her carseat,
constantly pull her down from everything she climbed up,
stop every 5 steps to pick up everything she throws out of the stroller,
mop the floors 5 times a day when every meal gets thrown on the floor
and etc etc etc!
Ahhh the joys of toddlers! ;)

This is totally her personality!
Super silly and cracks us up all the time! :)

Flag Football - Week 3

Date: Apr 28th

3 games on today's morning agenda!
This time it's 8am, 9am, 10am.
So we brought Poppy and Heidi for reinforcements!

Once again we arrived at the fields at 7:30am!
Taylee had the first 2 games.
And let me announce with total pride....
they won BOTH games against 2 really good boy teams!!!!

The first game was against the top ranked team thus far.
Their coach literally had a meltdown on the field in the second half.
He absolutely could not believe "a bunch of girls" were beating him. haha
He was swaying the refs into making crap calls against us.
One almost cost us the game and gave them a touchdown to tie it up.
Our defense held strong and stopped their extra point.
So it sent it into overtime.
Once again we were in the OT position.
But we knew what to expect this time.
It took another double OT to decide the outcome...and we won!!
Oh my goodness I'm so proud of these awesome girls!!
They're still so gracious and innocent.
They play hard and just have fun!

The second game was against another good team.
We're friends and go to church with the other coach and his kid.
We were behind the entire first half 12-0.
But these girls don't beat themselves up like the boys do.
They just keep on smiling and playing.
Before you knew it we were ahead and in control of the game.
The boys never caught back up and we won this one in style too!

The third game of the day was Anden's.
The other team didn't have enough players so they were pulling anyone in a uniform to play.
Well guess who ended up playing on the other team....Taylee!
So her and Anden finally got to play each other!
Anden's team won (uh luckily!!)
but Taylee gave them a run for their money!
She even caught a touchdown pass! lol
Anden wasn't too thrilled about that.
But I think he's secretly on her band wagon of beating all these boy teams! :)
Anden played awesome as he always does.
He was definitely relaxed this game and goofing around.
It's fun to see him having a great time!

Somehow I didn't get any pictures!
Well that is until I can snag the ones from the other coach's wife! :)

Flag Football - Week 2

Date: Apr 21st

Today we had 3 games.
I have to laugh (if not I'll cry) that we are literally up earlier
and out the door earlier on SATURDAYS than we are on weekdays!
Hhhmm what's wrong with that picture?! lol

So we were all fed, dressed and to the fields by 7:30am.

First up was Taylee's game at 8am.
Today was the real test as we were playing 2 boy teams!
The first game we were in control the whole game and in the lead!
They finally caught up towards the end and sent it into double OT!!
Unfortunately our inexperience of pass only OT hurt us and we ended up losing.
But all in all the girls played awesome!!
We know we'll absolutely beat that team if we play them again!

Taylee played again at 10am.
This game the girls were really pumped about because a lot of the boys
are in their classes at school.
2 of the boys, the QB and star receiver/running back, were Taylee's "boyfriends" in the past.
So the girls really wanted to beat them.
Well it was another awesome game.
The refs were out to get us with their horrible calls all game.
But we persevered!
And yes we BEAT the boy team!!
Taylee had a couple touchdowns again!
She literally sprinted the entire field with boys diving for her flags.
But nobody could catch her!!
She had a total of NINE sacks between the 2 games! lol she was unstoppable!

The post game handshake and feeling the joy of their first boy win!

Yes that's Taylee literally leaping for joy! haha

These coaches were keeping their cool in the post game chat
but really they were as giddy as the girls! lol
(yes that's Anden's head sneaking in on their victory speech!)

Such a fun and truly exciting game!!

Then I ran the littles home for lunch, put them in naps, had the sitter come over
and then rushed back to the fields for Anden's game at 1pm!

I had Anden make personal goals before the game
(in the event that his team got beat again that he wouldn't be so bummed!)
He wanted a touchdown and a pick 6.
I told him that was definitely attainable.
Well let's just say he got BOTH of his goals met in the first 3 plays of the game!! lol
WOOHOO!
The entire team played so well and they stomped all over the other team.
It was 40 something to 0!
But they were still gracious and polite winners to the other team.
They remembered how it felt last week to be on the other side of that scoreboard!
It was definitely a super fun game and a great confidence booster for them!

We finally gathered everything up and headed back home
to nurse our scrapes, sore muscles and sunburns!!
What a happy day of sports! :)

And yes eventually I'll have pictures of Anden's games.
I rely on the other coach's wife to take her awesome pics
and post them for us slacker moms to borrow! lol

Flag Football Spring 2018 Season

Date: Apr 14th

We had a few weeks off from Winter Football and Soccer
before Spring Football started.

I thought we would be able to just soak up all our extra gained free time.
But somehow it flew by and sports started right back up again.
However this time Taylee got recruited
to join an ALL GIRLS flag football team
in the same league that Anden plays in!

I was hesitant at first just knowing how crazy our lives get with sports.
But then I quickly remembered:

a) how many times Taylee has asked if she could play football
b) how she's on break from soccer til May tryouts and needed to stay in shape
c) how she could really rock that league with her athleticism
d) how she's always wanted Ryan as her coach too and never has had the chance
e) how hard she works at everything she does
f) how dang cute she would be scoring on those cocky boys! lol

So yep I signed her right on up! :)

And now Ryan has sports Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat each week!
Which means me and the littles have really gotten used to
living in the stroller...no not the car...but the double stroller!!

Both Anden and Taylee's teams only had 2 wks to practice before the first game.
However Anden's team is the same each season, minus a new QB this season,
which really threw off their momentum.
Taylee's team is brand spanking new.
Literally some of the girls have never played a single sport before.

I had chatted with Taylee when we agreed to her playing
about how they might lose every game and to just have fun.
This is a very competitive league with teams that have been together for years.
She was totally fine with that and just wanted to try something new.
After the first practice, Ryan could see their potential and was adamant
they were going to have a 500 record.
I told him he was crazy and needed to adjust his lofty goals
so that he wouldn't be the one crying on the sidelines! lol
Well these girls are just so hungry to learn and grow.
I could see by the next practice exactly why Ryan had so much faith in them.
Three of the girls are from club soccer.
So we already knew their potential and skill.
Then we recruited a couple others we knew would be great.
They quickly were meshing together
but yet still had no idea about plays, rules, etc, etc. lol
But dang they were cute and innocent!

Taylee's Football Debut!

The Season Kickoff was April 14th.
It started with the National Anthem and then the introduction of the teams through the tunnel!

Then we had our first game!
There actually ended up being enough girls sign up for the league
that the owner split them into 2 teams that first week.
So luckily he scheduled us to play the other girl team for our introductory game!
It was a great game to learn the concepts of football and what all these
weird plays are called! lol

It was also a great game to quickly realize how crazy good Taylee is!!!
Ryan has always told her she was his secret weapon.
But dang she really did SO well!
They pounced all over the other team.
Taylee had 2 touchdowns!!
She was SO cute and innocent and literally did a cheer jump in the endzone
after her first touchdown!
She pointed at me and was beaming with sheer joy! lol love her!

These girls had no idea how the points were adding up!
They thought each time they went into the end zone it was a touchdown,
huh what's an extra point?! lol
I loved them running back to the sideline and asking me what meant what!
Seriously they were just thrilled to be out there playing.

Then the buzzer rang and they realized they won their first game!!
Love Taylee's huge grin running off the field! :)

Then Anden's team played a double header after
and got their poor booties kicked in both games.
Hhhmm definitely a mixed feeling household afterwards.
But Ryan and Taylee were still riding their high of starting the season with a win.

At least Anden has the best Team Poster ever that I forgot to post from March after his last game!!

Stay tuned!
This is going to be an exciting season to say the least!!

Lake Season 2018 Kick Off

Date: Apr 7th

We realized we had one measly Saturday without sports for months.
So what did we do?
Oh you know we hit the lake!!

Lake Season Kick Off 2018!

Yes he dusted that ole boat off and headed on out.
Like literally.
Even though it's covered all winter,
somehow it's SO dusty inside.
So we had a family activity to clean the boat the night before.

We took off early in the morning
in order to be back by naptime.

Ryan was thrilled we didn't bring extra kids this time
because that meant he could drive the big red truck (as Laiky calls it!).
Which Anden secretly loves to because he gets to sit up front!

6 person selfie is a difficult feat! lol

The weather was gorgeous.
The water was freezing!

Ya no way I'm getting in there until it's bath water! lol
Arizona has turned me into a wimpy girl! ;)

My four little loves all up front enjoying the beauty!

This was Eastlie's first time as a full blown crazy toddler.
She did better than we expected, at least.
We just had to eat shoving snacks in her mouth and giving her things to play with.
The littles had a picnic on the blanket while the bigs tubed.

Daddy Daughter tube time!

It was a quick morning on the lake.
A perfect first time to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Now to see when we'll ever get back out there again!!

Happy Easter!!

Date: Apr 1st

Happy Easter!!!

We woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had filled our baskets!!

The big kids were at their Dad's house but
the little girls had a blast opening..and eating everything!
The bigs sadly had to wait until they got home that afternoon!

Releasing the girls to their Easter buckets!
Laiky's long locks blowing in the wind lol

One good thing about me having everything monogrammed around here
is that the kids quickly learn the first letter of their names! haha
She darted right to her "L is for Laiklyn"

Eastlie you're already a sugar nut like the rest of us! lol

Then the girls helped Daddy go through his bucket.
Yes the tradition remains the same that everyone gets new swimsuit, church clothes
then candy and treats.
Ryan just loves that he has more board shorts than any other man he knows! haha

Yes that's Ryan's mocking me face for making him take a picture of his loot! lol

I just love a good spring Easter Day
and it's even better when it's General Conference Sunday!
So we were able to lounge around at home
and enjoy each other's company!

Poppy and Heidi came up early that morning to have breakfast
with us and hang out most of the day!
We had a huge yummy breakfast on the patio.
Then played and played!

Poppy had to leave on a business trip late that afternoon.
So he wasn't able to stay for the family party later that day.

Classic Laiklyn "hug"

Then the big kids got home and ransacked their Easter baskets too!

Eventually the rest of the family arrived for Easter Dinner!
I kept it really simple this year for decor.
But the food was the usual menu and so yummy!

Then we cleaned up and headed out for the Easter Egg Hunt!
However at the same time was the weekly Furniss Family Video Chat.
So I was on that while still managing to be a part of the Easter Egg gathering!

Ready, Set, GO!!
And yes to up the ante the Easter Bunny put Movie Tickets in the two golden eggs!

Cute little Eastlie had a personal assistant to hold her basket!
Grammie to the rescue lol

Hmmm maybe not the safest hiding location?

Yep I'm still on the video chat!

Eastlie was the slowest egg gatherer.
She was adamant that she had to open each one and eat the contents before moving on! lol

On the other hand,
Laiklyn was the fastest egg gatherer!
We had figured out how many eggs each kid could get.
Oh Laiky doubled that number! haha
She was basically a blur of hair the entire time!

The family video chat ended before the egg hunt did!
So I took over as photographer while Ryan helped give clues for the final missing eggs.

Cheeks full of candy with bulging lips holding it all in! lol

Counting and examining their loot!

Laiklyn thought the money eggs were a waste and traded Anden for his candy eggs!
Somehow they both were happy with that exchange! lol

And finally a family pic of our Easter Day!

Then of course a group shot of everyone that came over to celebrate!

Finally I rewarded the kiddos for taking a nice family picture without complaining
by doing their favorite Cascarone Eggs!
(aka smashing your siblings in the heads with confetti eggs!)

They were super pumped!

Then it was back home for dessert!
While shaking confetti out of our hair for hours!

Such a fun day!
Happy Happy Easter!!
