Happy Memorial Weekend - Part 3

Happy Memorial Day!

The boys spent the morning out shooting in the desert
(and no not behind my house this time!)
Anden was more than ecstatic that he got to be included with the big boys.
He brought his bug catcher along.
Seeing as we now have a herd of lizards to feed!

The night before we all sat down and talked to him about gun safety.
This was his first outing since the dreaded Thanksgiving Day Door Massacre.
He promised he wouldn't touch anything without the boys helping him.
It has been 6 months.
I guess I can't keep him grounded from guns forever.
Especially with Aaron and Ryan around! lol
He was so excited that I let him go along with them.
He really has grown up so much lately.

So we said our goodbyes
and they showed me their guns

Then they were off!

Which meant the girls got a morning of no boys and only play and shopping!
So we loaded up in the wagon and walked to one of the parks.
After a few steps Taylee decided she didn't want to ride anymore
and wanted to pull the wagon instead.
Perfect! Easier for me! lol

It was an oddly beautiful overcast and COOL day!
Seriously it was only mid 70s in the morning!

We headed back from the park and over to the Outlets.
The stores were finally opened and the sales were awaiting us!
Oddly we got home from shopping before the boys from shooting!
We knew they would definitely take advantage of the cool weather and stay out longer!

Finally about noon the Mighty Hunters arrived back home.
There was nonstop ringing of the doorbell
(even though it was unlocked)
So Taylee ran and opened it.
There was Anden beaming with complete pride
holding a plate with a dead jack rabbit.
O.M.G.
It was too gross NOT to take a picture! lol

They also got a bunch of quail and dove.
I pointed out the obvious that they could have just stayed in the backyard
and got the same type of kill! lol
But they were wise enough to know that AR's can't be shot in backyards.
Good call.

Ryan sent me these pics of their adventure.

I kindly replied questioning,
"Who was driving Anden in the car if you & Aaron were out the window?"
(he he I know I think I'm so funny)

After they told us all about the gross hunting adventure,
Kyrrigan woke up from her nap and we headed back to the waterpark!

Ok but not before the big boys killed another flock of quail and dove in my backyard.
At one point the kids and I were outside yelling for Ryan so we could leave.
We couldn't find them.
So I called his phone and they sheepishly answer,
"Um oh we jumped the back wall again."

Shortly after that we were still wandering around the backyard
when out of nowhere 3 dead birds come hurling over the back fence and land right at our feet.
We barely had time to scream or gawk before 2 men come climbing
over the wall and drop into the backyard too.
These rednecks are going to officially get me kicked out of Anthem! lol

But no worries,
they then did the responsible thing of skinning the birds right there
and storing all of their prized kill in a baggie in my fridge.
Awesome.

Can we FINALLY go to the waterpark now?!

The boys hit up the waterslides
while us girls played by the big toy!

Eventually we made our way over to the lap pool and diving boards.
Even Kyrrigan had her first official solo swim!

The boys had a diving board competition.

Ryan was determined to jump further than Aaron.
I'm surprised there was any water left in the pool afterwards.

Lounging and playing in the grass!

We wore ourselves out once again and everyone crashed early!
Such fun times!

Happy Memorial Weekend - Part 2

Sunday morning we got up, ate a big breakfast and lounged around until church.
Well at least the girls did.
The boys were out catching more huge lizards.
I guess they didn't think our 2 lizards and 2 geckos were enough.

And if I thought the ones we already had were huge,
I was quickly mistaken.
They caught mini alligators this time.

Apparently Aaron has secret animal catching powers.
He designed a string loop (aka noose)
and strung those monsters right up.

Taylee was more concerned about her freshly painted manicure!

Finally Taylee decided her nails wouldn't get ruined if she touched the new monster.

Normal people walk their dogs on a leash.
But not us.
We walk our lizard on a leash.

So a new bucket was designated for the monster size lizard.
Because the "little" lizards were "snuggling" peacefully.
(Which really means I'll have baby lizards soon! ugh)

Finally I had to break up the animal hunt to get the troops ready for church.

After church we decided to head to the water park for a bit.
I asked Taylee to get a swimsuit on.
She came back with a new accessory.

Mmmm gummy worm necklace!

Which I admit is pretty creative!
I learned later Uncle Aaron helped her!

Then we headed out!
Luckily Ryan is the "fun one" at the waterpark.
Because lately I just want to chill
and especially when my sister is there to chat nonstop with!

Anden found a couple of his soccer buddies
and was thrilled they brought a soccer ball.

After a couple of hours we were starving for dinner!
So we headed home.

After the kids crashed in bed,
the boys started prepping for their shooting/hunting trip in the morning.
They decided they needed to run get "supplies".

Ya which means they came home with new pellet/bb guns
and just HAD to test them out in my backyard.
Totally legal inside city limits of course!

They realized the guns were REALLY loud shots
and made their own contraptions for silencers! lol

Which apparently worked!
Good thing they just hopped the back fence into the desert wash.
Well not a good thing for those poor animals they took out!
"It was like a gold mine out there!"
"Um NO joke why would those bunnies ever think someone would poach them inside Anthem! They thought they had found the safest home around until you two nuts arrived!"

The Mighty Bunny Slayers proudly carried their kill into the house
and chased Lyndsay while she screamed her lungs out! lol

Sometimes I'm not sure if I still live in rural Idaho or metropolitan Phoenix.
