Soccer Games #4

Soccer Games #4 - April 28th

Here we go again!
Anden's games are always at 9am.
So Taylee patiently (haha) waits!

Pregame Warm up
(apparently Anden didn't need to stretch)

He loves to throw it back in bounds.

Towards the end he surprisingly asked to be goalie again.
This time he got a lot of action!

Some of the action he created himself!
He really nailed the spinning twirls though! lol

But I must admit,
The urge to twirl during sporting events doesn't go away.
Just last week during my softball game
I was caught doing a cartwheel in the outfield.
Yep, at my ripe old age.

After Anden's game,
we had an hour break until Taylee's game.
So we headed to McDonald's for ice cream cones.
After we ordered and were waiting in the drive thru line,
we were informed that the ice cream machine blew up.
Awesome.
So I explained the scenario to the disgruntled ones in the backseat
and we headed over to Wendy's for Frostys.

My point of the sugar high break was to hopefully
keep Taylee wired enough
(yes I know I actually wished that upon myself)
to want to play in her own game.

As we were walking back to the fields,
Taylee tripped and scraped her knee.
I now know to carry band aids in my purse.
So we cleaned up the blood & put the magic healer on.
She suddenly was tired and whiny.
Great, there goes her motivation for soccer.

But wow was I totally wrong.
She rocked it during her game!!

And yes the tongue is sticking out!

She spent a lot of the 2nd half holding her friend's hand while they ran along.

Taylee then broke away with the pack to get the ball.
She glanced back and saw that Piper had tripped and fallen.
So she immediately turned around and went back
to help her friend up!
My heart swelled a bit.
Being a good friend is always more important than scoring a goal anyway!

Lil Miss Mom

Saturday morning the kids were chillin and watching cartoons
while I was scrambling to get everything ready for soccer.

I had left Taylee snuggled up on the couch with her blanky.
I came back out to find her in a new position.
Still watching cartoons.
But with a baby doll.

And then when she realizes I was taking her picture,
she turned into a goofball.

It won't ever get old to see her being such a good little mom!

Go Coyotes!

We have really started to catch Hockey Fever around here.
Considering it's the only Phoenix sports team
that cared enough to make the playoffs!

Usually at this time of year I'm living and breathing basketball
But not this year.
Instead bring on the Phoenix Coyotes!!

I love a good underdog story.
And this is definitely one.
Not bad for an orphan misfit team without an owner!

So we've busted out our hockey gear.
And are enjoying the unexpected playoff ride!

Um highsticking...or baseball?

Another Day, Another Injury

I've had to accept that I have abnormally busy children.
Thus I also have had to unwilling accept that
the odds of them getting hurt are significantly increased.

Taylee has now joined the black eye club.
Yep my cute little girl.
But yet her black eye is above the eye, not below.
Oddly NOBODY knows how it happened.

I actually thought she had snuck into some make up
and dressed herself up with eye shadow.
Unfortunately it didn't wash off.
Ugh.

But I bet she's gained some street cred on the preschool playground.

And I'm still secretly praying that this one didn't have something
to do with the mysterious black eye!

More Parties

Birthday Party Season
is in full swing around here!

This time it was Bailey's swim party!
The kids had a blast!
And since it was 102 degrees,
this was the perfect party!

Soccer Games #3

Soccer Games #3: April 21

In true Idaho Arizona fashion
it went from 50 degrees last Saturday to 100 degrees this Saturday!

So now it was "too hot to play".
I can't win here folks.

First up:
Anden's Game at 9am

High Five'ing Coach after our team scored!

Anden volunteered to play goalie at one point.
I asked him later how he liked it.
"It's BORING!  The ball didn't even come down here!"
I explained to him that's a good thing!
It means your team is doing great on offense!
He didn't buy it
and won't be volunteering for Goalie again.

Anden has yet to score a goal.
(which saves some money on bribe gifts!)
But he's right in the mix helping his team.
He's back to being the youngest in this league.
So it's definitely more competitive.

Taylee was quietly sitting next to me during Anden's game
(which is beyond rare that 1: she's quiet 2: she's sitting)
I glanced down to check on her.
I cracked up laughing.
She was contently eating her snacks while crossing her legs.
Seriously?! How do little girls already know to cross their legs?

Next:
Taylee's Game at 11am

I've decided it's just cruel to make the 3 yr olds wait to play
until right during lunch time.
Needless to say, her soccer motivation had worn off
by the time her game started!

The majority of the game was spent
begging, bribing & pleading with her to play.

Good thing I brought the water spray fans.
It was the only thing that kept the team happy!
(and sad when fights broke out over them & they got confiscated!)

At one point, she did manage to break away
and dribble down the field alone!

Until she decided to change the ball direction.
By bending down and repositioning it with her hands.

At another point in the middle of the action,
she randomly ran to the sideline to talk to a complete stranger.
About fashion.
lol no joke.

We finally made it through another game!
And they even won!!
