The Revvy Awards - Soccer Banquet

Date: Mar 31st

Taylee's soccer club had their End of Season Awards Banquet.
It's called the Revvy's Awards!
Each team was highlighted with a photo video.
Then they had three awards for each team voted on by the team.

The Player's Player Award (teammates vote for this one)
The Supporter's Player Award (parents/spectators vote for this one)
And then the Coach's Player Award

They had sent home the ballots to each family a couple weeks earlier.
When Ryan and I filled it out,
we just knew that Taylee could easily win any of those three categories.
She has had an amazing season and is such an MVP.
She can play any position and instantly bring a boost of moral and skill to the team.

Just Taylee and I went to the ceremony.
She tried to play it cool but she was definitely nervous and wanted to win one of the awards.
I assured her whether she did or not, she had a spectacular season.

Finally they got to the 2008 girls.
Supporter's Player award goes to.....Taylee Harbeck!!!
I seriously got all emotional and was holding back the tears
as she jumped up beaming with pride to accept her award.

She works so hard and is SUCH a good person all the way around.
She absolutely deserved that award.
I had a feeling that was the one that she would win.
The crowd loves watching her play and the immediate impact she brings to the game.
I hear the comments on the sidelines every game.
Everyone is nervous if they ever take Taylee out of the game for a breather.
(which by the way is rare. Her own coach is nervous if she's not on the field!)
I can see and hear the comments of "Put Taylee back in!" lol
We all love watching her!

Good job honey!!!
The award recipients got a ball signed by their team and labeled with what award they won.
Then Ryan decided to buy her a display case for it too.

What a fun season!!
Except... it's not really over yet!
One more tournament to go! lol
Then 2 wks off until tryouts for next season!
So basically soccer is really year round!

Pee Wee Soccer Game 1

Date: Mar 30th

Laiklyn had her first game!
It went tons better than we anticipated.
No that doesn't mean our daughter is suddenly an athletic superstar.
But it means that she stayed on the field, didn't cry, smiled,
and just jogged behind the pack of kids chasing the ball.
That's a win in our books! haha

Also as added insurance of a successful season,
I made sure that we got on the same team as my friend Tessa's little boy Ezra.
Their entire family are soccer phenoms
That immediately proved a wise strategic move by me
as Ezzie was the only kid capable of dribbling the ball in and out of people
and scoring 10 goals! haha no joke!

I then quickly told Laiky during the game just to chase Ez and tag him the whole game!
That also was a very wise move on my part.
She was "engaged" in the game chasing after the ball (aka Ezra) the entire time! hahaha
He did give her the weirdest looks when she kept tagging him though! lol
Maybe I should have told him he was part of the tag game?!

This really was fun to watch!
The whole sideline of parents were cracking up at these little kids.
One kid on our team just dove on the ball constantly as if it was a fumble.
They had to peel him off the ground/ball and repeatedly remind him not to touch with his hands.
Hey at least my kid was only using her hands to tag a fellow teammate! lol

Smarty Pants

Date: Mar 29th

Anden and Taylee came home from school Friday with their
3rd Quarter Report Cards.
I seriously have to just say how proud I am of these kids!!
They're such smarties!!!
And yes that's with juggling multiple extra curricular activities.

They're so well rounded and balanced.
Their teachers all rave about how kind and helpful and well behaved they are.
They both have tons of friends and are just all around cool kids!
I sure am one lucky Momma to call them mine!

Laiklyn Soccer Season Begins

Date: Mar 28th

I was very hesitant signing Laiklyn up for soccer after her complete lack of interest last year.
But I figured a 1/4 of her life has passed since then
and maybe she was ready for the competitive world of sports again!

Oh and to really get her excited I took her to pick out new cleats and a ball.
She was SO anxious to wear them!

Well she had her first soccer practice of the season last night.
She ended up taking a super late nap and I had to wake her up at 4pm
for her practice at 5pm.
Let's just say she was so groggy and tired and couldn't understand
why I was rushing her around and changing her clothes and making her wear
those AWFUL cleats that she didn't like!!
(yes the same ones from yesterday that I bought her that she was SO excited about!)
Ryan rushed home from work as I was throwing the girls into the car
and Laiklyn was beyond ready to snap.
She doesn't have full blown meltdowns hardly ever anymore.
But boy oh boy did she fall completely apart when we got to the fields!
I had to step away and just let out my laughter
while Ryan was trying to force sense into a completely irrational 4 year old
who was crying nonstop about having to play soccer!
He ended up hauling her off the field and having her take a breather in the car.
Which I think was more for him than me.
Meanwhile I was doing my best "just smile and wave, smile and wave"
as I was introducing myself to a whole team of new parents/families
and the oldest/tallest kid there was the only one hyperventilating on the sideline.
Awesome first impression! lol
Anthem 3-4 year old Soccer
Here we come!

Meanwhile Eastlie's happy as can be wearing cleats that are 5 sizes too big for her
and asking, "Why's Laiky acting like a baby?! Can I play soccer with her team?!" lol
Hhmm not a bad idea. I almost sent Eastlie out on the field instead!
Eventually Laiky snapped out of her mood and went on the field to practice with her team.
Ok so she basically just moped around following the ball.
But hey, somewhat redeemed our pride at least! lol

Needless to say there are NO pictures from first soccer practice!
Just emotional scars instead! lol

The next day I figured I better try to salvage this upcoming disaster of a season
and really played it up to the girls how fun soccer is and we should practice in the backyard.
Laiky was in a normal mood and all for it!
So we'll just call this her first practice instead! :)

It took me about 15 seconds to figure out which of these two
would actually have a passion for soccer.
Let's just say it isn't the one that's enrolled in the league!!

I'm slightly worried....that it's going to be a LONG season again! haha
Wish us luck! :)

Wild One

Date: May 27th

I'm obsessed with this
Wild One!

And of course the older Wild One too!!
Another Happy Meal Wednesday at the park!
It's our weekly tradition after we pick up Laiky from school!

Really girls?! That can't be comfy! lol

I'm so grateful I get so much time with these cuties!
Even when I want to give them away some days! lol
