I was very hesitant signing Laiklyn up for soccer after her complete lack of interest last year.
But I figured a 1/4 of her life has passed since then
and maybe she was ready for the competitive world of sports again!
Oh and to really get her excited I took her to pick out new cleats and a ball.
She was SO anxious to wear them!
Well she had her first soccer practice of the season last night.
She ended up taking a super late nap and I had to wake her up at 4pm
for her practice at 5pm.
Let's just say she was so groggy and tired and couldn't understand
why I was rushing her around and changing her clothes and making her wear
those AWFUL cleats that she didn't like!!
(yes the same ones from yesterday that I bought her that she was SO excited about!)
Ryan rushed home from work as I was throwing the girls into the car
and Laiklyn was beyond ready to snap.
She doesn't have full blown meltdowns hardly ever anymore.
But boy oh boy did she fall completely apart when we got to the fields!
I had to step away and just let out my laughter
while Ryan was trying to force sense into a completely irrational 4 year old
who was crying nonstop about having to play soccer!
He ended up hauling her off the field and having her take a breather in the car.
Which I think was more for him than me.
Meanwhile I was doing my best "just smile and wave, smile and wave"
as I was introducing myself to a whole team of new parents/families
and the oldest/tallest kid there was the only one hyperventilating on the sideline.
Awesome first impression! lol
Anthem 3-4 year old Soccer
Here we come!
Meanwhile Eastlie's happy as can be wearing cleats that are 5 sizes too big for her
and asking, "Why's Laiky acting like a baby?! Can I play soccer with her team?!" lol
Hhmm not a bad idea. I almost sent Eastlie out on the field instead!
Eventually Laiky snapped out of her mood and went on the field to practice with her team.
Ok so she basically just moped around following the ball.
But hey, somewhat redeemed our pride at least! lol
Needless to say there are NO pictures from first soccer practice!
Just emotional scars instead! lol
The next day I figured I better try to salvage this upcoming disaster of a season
and really played it up to the girls how fun soccer is and we should practice in the backyard.
Laiky was in a normal mood and all for it!
So we'll just call this her first practice instead! :)
It took me about 15 seconds to figure out which of these two
would actually have a passion for soccer.
Let's just say it isn't the one that's enrolled in the league!!
I'm slightly worried....that it's going to be a LONG season again! haha
Wish us luck! :)
