The Day I Lived in Fear Of

.....Sadly has arrived.

Taylee cut her own hair.

I'm just now accepting this really happened.
I cried when I saw it.

When I gasped and asked what happened
she smirked and twirled the remaining hair
while politely and innocently stating,
"Um actually I would rather not talk about it"

I just stared at her and tried not to laugh out of shock.
What 3 yr old says that?!?!

I later found out that she wasn't cutting her hair.
She was in fact cutting out the comb
that was stuck in her hair
while she was doing her own hair.
Phew, much better.

I've waited since Sunday hoping it would magically grow back.
But it hasn't.
So now I'll be having to cut her real bangs.
To somewhat disguise the damage.

And yes I could only muster a cell phone pic to document the tragedy.

Now let's cross our fingers that I don't do a worse cutting job than her
when I try and "fix" it this weekend! lol

Animation Nation

Tuesday 3/27: Driving from school to the sitter's house.

This is a normal little drive for us.
I ask all about their school day.
And they do anything but answer.

(Anden's lucky enough to sit right behind me. Therefore he can hide from the camera.)

Eventually they both want to answer at the same time.
So to diffuse the fights,
I come up with something else to do.

Today Taylee wanted to sing her FAVORITE song.
(lol yes it's Selena Gomez, "Love You Like a Love Song")

And yes I know I could easily turn on the DVD player.
And enjoy the silence.
But look at all the fun we would miss!

Birthday Journey

In honor of my big sister's Birthday...
Here's a tribute to her daughter's Birth Day!

"Kyrrigan's Journey"

Thank You
Lyndsay & Aaron
for allowing me the opportunity to capture this event.
Words can't express how thankful and blessed I was
to be part of your intimate miraculous moment.

Have a wonderful birthday today Lyndsay!
The best gift ever has been given to you!
And instantly your life is more complete.

We love you!

Kitchen Facelift - Part 3

I'm finally at a 'stopping point' with the kitchen.
Of course there is tons more I want to do.
But I'll need more time and money to complete those!

So here's the kitchen for now!

The pictures make the walls look blue.
But it's actually a very faint turquoise.
Picking the right shade of light colored paint is the hardest commitment for me.
Since there's literally 100s of options!
Of which each look different in your home than on the swatch!
So I'm still a little iffy if I love it.

But overall I'm totally thrilled with the kitchen makeover!

(OK and i'll secretly admit that the kitchen desk cabinets aren't done yet!
Oops ran out of paint and motivation! Luckily it's on the other half of the kitchen
so I conveniently didn't have to take pics of that! lol)

..NOW..
I couldn't ignore the attached family room.

I was so thrilled to take down the old decor that I forgot to take "before" pics.
But I did manage to snap one of this beauty as I was shoving it out the door.
(my intent was sofa slipcovers until I found a steal of deal on Craigslist!)

So here's what the family room looks like now!

And again, I'm never fully done decorating.
There's lots more I want to do to make it picture perfect.
But that doesn't quite fit our lifestyle.
It needs to be 'liveable'!
For instance,
I have never had "breakables" in this room.
For good reason.
Let's just say I'm already on the second set of decor on that turquoise table.
Yep,
knocked off and shattered within a week.

I love having a busy house of little kids.
And I'm not entirely sarcastic with that one!
I adore my munchkins.
Although it took 10 mins to remember that as I was sweeping up
little shattered bits of brand new frames and finials.

So now I'm saving my pennies to work on the rest of the house!
One room at a time!

Spring Showers

How does this happen?

87 degrees on Friday.
Sunburns to prove it.
Then wake up to this on Sunday morning.

Yes, that's snow on the mountain range behind my house.
In Phoenix, Arizona.

So for those in the northern states that were mourning their
first spring shower snowstorm,
we were right there with you!

But instead
I loved it!!
Ahhh 45 degrees in March!

I quickly texted Luke a pic and told him he barely escaped it
as he had flown back to Idaho that morning.

He immediately texted back with his own picture upon arrival.

Ok you win
...or lose?! :-)

St. Patty's Day

Another Green Day,
Another Year Older.

I tried to avoid my birthday this year
by celebrating St. Patty's Day with the kids instead!

And conveniently Lucky the Leprechaun
snuck into our house Friday night
and played his silly pranks all over!

Then they found last set of footprints on the fridge.
And  there within was the Pot of Gold!

They took .02 seconds to shove their mouths full of breakfast chocolate!

Anden was concerned that Lucky might have left him a gift too.
I admitted that I think I saw Lucky running across the yard in disguises this morning.
So we set off outside on a hunt to find him
or anything else he might have left!

And yes I threw on an ounce of festive green!

And wouldn't you know it.
Lucky did leave his disguises behind!

Then we moved on to birthday silly string!

Then we played a "fun" clean up game!

After our morning Lucky Adventures,
we headed to the local donut shop for some more sugar!

Of course the festivities also continued for lunch.
We had Lucky Pasta.
(compliments of my Mom!)

Then we played at home the rest of the day.
Until we eventually met up with Luke & Mel for dinner!!
We love having family in town!
And it made it extra special to spend my birthday with them!

And then for my final wish,
I asked for just one little cute picture of me & the kids.
Better luck next year?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
