Date: July 30th

Laiklyn is a tad Minions obsessed...to say the least!

She begs everyday to watch one of the minion movies.

Well it just so happened that Despicable Me 3 came out this summer!

We were so busy that it took us until now to finally go see it as a family!

Laiklyn was the most excited and had to dress in her "minion clothes"! :)

She literally sat and watched the WHOLE movie!

First time ever!

Then at the end she started yelling (for all to hear)

"AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN!!!" lol

It was a cute family movie...so I heard.

I was out in the hall with nonstop crawling Eastlie most of the time!

Laiky was still in Minion Heaven when we left! lol 

 

 

And now we can finally check that off our summer bucket list! :)

Another Summer Night, Another Summer Monsoon

(and he's even on a business call too!! lol sheesh)

Date Night on the Lake

Date: July 8th

Well since the boat was still untarped from the night before

that we went to the lake....

we decided to head back out on Saturday for our own little date night.

We knew it was our last chance for some alone time before

the kids and I headed to Idaho.

We invited some other couples but they couldn't make it on short notice.

But that ended up being perfect since we had the boat and the lake to ourselves!

This was the first time ever we've gone without kids.

And boy do we love our kids....but boy do we LOVE boating without them! haha

We're definitely going to do this more often!

This was by far my most favorite date night ever!! :)

We did have one little visitor...this duck almost hopped onto the swim deck to join us! lol

Then we headed into the marina for dinner

and to wait out the storm that rolled in.

It went from chill waters to white caps real quick!!

By the time we were done eating the storm had passed.

So we loaded up the boat and headed back to reality...aka home!! haha

Summer Boating

Date: July 7th

This summer has been really hard to squeeze in lake trips

We haven't gotten out as much as we have wanted

but we've made the most of the trips we did take!!

We prefer the lake afternoon/evening trips!

It's the perfect time!

Nice and calm water, lake to ourselves....

oh and the every reliable monsoon storm

that rolls in and makes things extra exciting for us!

Laiklyn decided to join us while the big kids boated.

Really she just wanted the snacks to herself!

(disclaimer: we really are safe boaters, not sure why this is a rare moment of Eastlie's life jacket off!!)

Then it was a race to the dock to load up before the monsoon blew us over!

Monsoons

Date: July 24th

We just love the Monsoons!

(well except when they hit while we're at the lake...which seems to happen often!!)

It's about the only thing that keeps us sane in the summer

because we can actually go outside and play when it cools things down!

(but of course we pay the price the next day when it's completely humid and muggy!)

After we got back from Idaho, it rained parts of every day for over a week!

Ahhh made the transition from the cool country to the sauna a bit easier!

While we were eating breakfast we were watching the news and weather report.

It was going to be another day of big storms!

The east valley had already been hit and was flooding!

We were watching live footage of a water rescue.

 Laiklyn glances up from playing and yells with sheer delight....

"MOMMY THE MINIONS ARE IN THE WATER!!!!!!"

OMG hahahahaha I had to rewind it and take a picture!

Well the weatherman was right and the storm hit us about an hour later!

Uh not sure that's a good thing how cute Anden's umbrella pose is! lol 

Peek a Boo!

Then there's Laiklyn...

who had her rain boots and umbrella on and ready

long before the rain even started.

Yet once it started raining she was so mad that she had an umbrella.

So she sat on her lounger and wailed in her misery

that she didn't want to use an umbrella....even though I told her she didn't have to!

Really kid?! haha

Then her little world shifted back on its axis

as she moved on to jumping in the muddy puddles.

I've given up trying to stop her.

She's by far my messiest outdoor kid, yes more than Anden was.

She just loves getting dirty.

Trying to talk Taylee into joining her.

Which Taylee had already soaked one pair of clothes, 

then changed,

and was wet again!

This could be why I have endless piles of laundry!!!

At least Anden's clothes were still clean and dry! 

What Mommy?!  There's nothing on my face!

Hey at least I had tried to tell her to stop looking at the puddles

as she splashed them into her face.

Oh well she was happy as can be.

Then I hosed her down outside once the rain stopped! lol

I had sent some pics to my family and Lyndsay replied,

"Looks like Idaho rubbed off on her.  Overalls, boots and nothing else!" lol

Well since I made the mistake of telling her they were her "Minion" shorts...

she hasn't worn anything else in a week!!!
