Memorial

Happy Memorial Day!

One bummer thing about living far away from family
and having no "roots" here,
is that my kids don't get to experience
"Memorial Day"
the way that I did.
Which always involved visiting the local cemeteries
and honoring our relatives.

Yes,
I was bored and probably complained most years.
But I'm glad I was taught that was the meaning of
"Memorial Day".
And then of course afterwards
we were taken to the lake or parties or BBQs!

One day I hope to show my kids the first meaning of
"Memorial Day".

But until then,
it's an extra day of free play!

So we hit the waterpark
with Holly & the kids!

And these two think they're twins
and have to be as close to each other as possible.
All of the time!

At one point I lost Taylee
(yes I know. it's a common occurrence nowadays)

I found her moments later standing on top of a speaker
dancing away by her myself.

Holly & I just laughed.
That's SO Taylee!

Lucy ran to join her dance party.

We finally loaded up and enjoyed the 2.5 hr crashing naps afterwards!

And I made use of the quiet time to finally finish
painting the kitchen desk cabinets.
Yes, it's now crossed off my list...from 2 mos ago!

Mommy Son Baseball Outing

Monday night Holly & I decided to
have a Mommy Son Date!

So we took the boys to the Dbacks vs Dodgers game.
She's a huge Dodgers fan
and forces her son to be also :)
We are big Dbacks fans!
Well until Anden realized their Dodgers foam finger was pretty cool.

Partying it up in the far back seat on the way there!

They LOVED the kids playground the best!
We spent half the game there!

We walked the whole park!

Checking out the pool!

The boys were a little bummed that we had to leave before the 7th inning stretch.
Sorry kiddos it's way past your bedtime!

So we stopped in the courtyard on the way out.
And performed our own 7th inning stretch!

What a fun date!!
We love our adorable little big boys!

Vegas Trip - 5/20

Vegas Trip - Day 4
Sunday morning we decided to skip church.
C'mon it's at 8am!

So we lounged around instead.

Anden wanted to teach her how to use a phone.
I reminded him that Baby K was a girl
and would figure that out before she learns to walk!

Then we went for a mid morning park adventure!

Sadly the time came to load up and head home!
We had so much fun!

And how lucky are we...
because we get to come back in 2 wks when Kyrrigan is blessed at church!

So we hit the road again.

And shortly after were back in the good ole AZ

And shortly after that the kids crashed asleep.
So I found a new picture editing app to keep me awake & entertained the rest of the drive.
(um no i wasn't on my phone playing while driving...!)

Vegas Trip - 5/19

Vegas Trip - Day 3

One good thing about a Friday wedding,
is you have the ENTIRE rest of the weekend to play!
And that we did!

We headed to the Summerlin Kids Festival.
But not until Taylee go enough Baby K time!

There were all sorts of activities, booths, etc.
Definitely a fun little event.

Anden was elated when he saw Spiderman.
I was too when I saw his muscles bulging through his skin tight outfit.
I dared Lynds to grab his butt.
Oddly she wasn't a taker! lol

We made crafts

We made hair bows

And then we made Anden's life complete
when we saw Captain America!

Taylee wanted to go back and meet him.
So we all hopped in for a picture!

After meeting him,
we couldn't top anything else.
So we headed back to Lyndsay's.

We really wore out Baby K!

Then we all crashed for naps!
Which apparently I did too.

As soon as we woke up,
it was time to hit up Red Rock Resort swimming!

Leslie & Chris had rented a couple VIP cabanas for everyone.
I thought that was a great idea to relax with your friends & family after a hectic wedding!

Every so often my heart raced when I couldn't find Taylee.
Each time I found her in a different pool just contently swimming away.
Such a stinker!

Finally this nice family did me a huge favor by entertaining the kids.
She kindly says to me about Taylee,
"Wow you've got quite the little independent one on your hands!"
Yep, you're not kidding!

We stayed up until they closed & kicked us out at 7pm.
Then we ventured to Pei Wei for dinner.
Afterwards I had promised the kids a prize for doing so well at the wedding.
So we hit up good old Walmart.
Anden had asked NONSTOP since the wedding.
Figured I better make good on my promise.

He was so excited that we rushed home and put together his new toy.
Then he insisted we take pictures of it
from all angles.

And then we crashed.
HARD.
Again!
