Tball Time

Tball Season has started.
This year Taylee's old enough to play also.
So stinkin cute!

I betrayed Anthem League Sports
and enrolled them at my softball park,
Victory Lanes.
The league is much more advanced and competitive
and how can you resist team hat/shirts?!

Meet Team Owls.

Clearly Anden really took the "owl eyes" theme seriously.

After last night's first practice,
it was very apparent that Taylee was by far the smallest kid on the field
and the most inexperienced.
But dang she looked adorable cluelessly skipping around!
Don't mind that I completely lost her THREE times.
Once she was found over at the sand volleyball courts filling up her shoes.
Two times she was frantically retrieved at the playground
happily going down slides and hanging from monkey bars.

On the other spectrum,
Anden was by far the team clown and trouble maker
and ironically also one of the most talented players.
He even managed to still stop a grounder
while standing in an ant hill and ferociously being attacked.
Go figure!
If there's 100 kids, he will ALWAYS be the ONE that gets eaten alive

Needless to say,
juggling two kids on one team of completely different skill levels
and personalities will definitely result in an interesting and humor packed season!

But you want to know the best part about this league?
My long time buddy Tracy also got her kids on the same team!!
Yippee for us!
Guaranteed two girly chat sessions a week!
(or as we figured out last night that was limited to "hi, bye" as we both chased our kids the whole time!)

Last but not least.
It's super comforting to have this billboard in the outfield of a Tball (AKA 3-5 YR OLDS) field.
We were torn whether to laugh or cinge.

Annual Doctor Visit

Yesterday I took the kids to their annual wellness checks at the Doctor.

As I was checking in, Taylee grabbed some books to read.
(while Anden broke the TV)
I came back to see her selections.

Seriously, I know it's North Scottsdale
but when did we start indoctrinating our kids in Russian?
At least I think it's Russian?!
Unlike the rest of the Mothers in the waiting room,
my personal assistant and/or nanny wasn't available to research it for me.

Once in our room, it was a competition to see which kid got to go first.

They both whizzed through their eye tests.
(ok so I had to remind Taylee 42 times to pay attention, stop twirling her hair, stop laughing at Anden, stop goofing around with the eye glasses, stop falling off the chair, and on, and on. C'mon she's 3!)
Anden also whizzed through his ear test.
Taylee was peeved only the 5 year olds got that "beep test".

The doctor was so impressed with their great health that she unfortunately
left her "special tool" for them to "investigate" while we waited for the nurse.

What she didn't realize is that her "special tool" was now going to "investigate"
EVERY
single part of Taylee's body.

I thought Taylee was just being a giggly wiggly little girl.
That is until Anden moved the examination to my ear.
Then I quickly realized that while he was using the light to look into her ears
he was also pushing the thing to blow air into her ears!
Needless to say when he did it to me
I had the same reaction as the 3 yr old!

They both did great and managed to negotiate their way
into getting 2 stickers instead of 1.

The ride home was the most peaceful one ever.
I guess going straight from school to a 2pm appt wore them out!

And for journaling purposes...

Anden 5 year Stats

Weight: 39 lbs, 33 percentile
Height: 43 3/4 inches, 64 percentile
Taylee 3 year Stats

Weight: 30 lbs, 45 percentile
Height: 37 1/2 inches, 55 percentile

It's Fall!

Happy First Day of AUTUMN Never Ending Summer!

Hunsaker Memories

After Grandma's funeral services,
some of the family went back over to their house.
It's been years since I've been there.
Floods of memories descended upon me.
They were distant yet poignant.
Time is so short.
That generation is now gone
but never forgotten.

Vilda Whetten Hunsaker

I'm back from a whirlwind trip to Idaho and Utah.
An unexpected reunion.
A bittersweet occasion.
An unplanned "vacation"
to see all of my wonderful family!

The Viewing
Brigham City, Utah

Um one of these things is not like the others

After the viewing, we hit up the local diner.
Peach City

The Furniss Kids

We literally took over the entire joint!
The Hunsaker relatives!

The Funeral
Honeyville, Utah

The Grandsons

The weather was beautiful while at the cemetery.
But during the luncheon
the skies opened and wept.

Tears of joy for a beloved Daughter of God had returned home.
Tears of sadness for those left to wait.
