Halloween Monday

While I was dropping the kids off at the sitter this morning,
I told them to give me their scariest Halloween faces.
Impressive.

This is gonna be a fun day!
Happy Halloween!

Primary Program Sunday

Sunday was the Primary Program at church.
This is when all the kids aged 4-12 perform the service.
And sit up front for all to see.
This can easily be a good or bad thing!

I had practiced Anden's line with him for 3 days straight.
He had it down perfectly.
So did Taylee.

"I am reverent when I take good care of my scriptures"

I asked Anden if he wanted to take his mini scriptures up front with him to really play the part.
Then I had visions of him hitting the other kids on the head with them
or throwing them into the rows in front of him.
On second thought, how about I just hold them right here for you.

Taylee was a tad miffed when I didn't let her prance on up front too.
"Mommy but I can talk into the microphone too! I know the words!"
Next year honey.
So there we sat in our pew waving to Anden
and blowing kisses
for the entire hour.

It always amazes me that the kids torment each other constantly
yet when they're separated for an hour...
They miss each other.

While we were loading into the car that morning,
I snapped a few pics to document this important day!
(and yes I overdo the festive part of holidays - hence Taylee's attire)

And I especially love when they whip out their own props right when I take the picture

Needless to say I snatched those out of his hand as we were walking into church!
I could just picture him slurring and drooling his line into the microphone
while proudly flashing his pearly white vampire teeth.

Trunk or Treat

Saturday night we had our church
Trunk or Treat

The kids were a hit as always!

Anden: "Mean" Pirate
Taylee: "Princess" Pirate

That's how I got my way with THEIR costume selection this year. :-)

Heading home with our $30 worth of candy that we gathered in 3 minutes.
Trunk or treating is by far the most efficient Halloween activity!

Halloween Gifts

This year our teachers, sitters and neighbors received these spooky treats!
(insert evil cackle here)

Super Easy.
Super Cute.
Even at 11pm.

Tball Game #3

We had Game #3 at 8am on Saturday.
Clearly that was too early for the majority of the team.
Or maybe just my kids.

But they trudged on and played ball!

Good Job Buddy!
Way to steal the ball from the girl!

This is what we do on defense.

This is what we do on offense.

Their fave 2 mins of the game.

Taylee makes friends with everyone

Anden promoted himself to 1st base.
After he realized the ball went there EVERY play.

Taylee promoted herself to the only player having a personal assistant

She gave fives to everyone and danced all inning!

Another game complete in the books!

And when I'm not organizing the rugrats into batting order,
I'm right here chatting Tracy's ear off!
(while still coaching from the sideline!)

My plan is to introduce the kids to every sport
until they decide one is their fave.
And then we'll stick with that one.
As of right now, Tball ranks at the bottom.
They're way too busy body to stand around kicking dirt.
Then again, it might have to do with them being 3 and 5 yrs old! lol
Anyway at this rate,
looks like we're back to soccer next!

Sweets, Pumpkins, Friends

Sunday night we decided to support the new event
"Trick or Treat for an Anthem Sweet"
that a bunch of the local businesses were hosting.

Holly & the kids came up.

Near the end of course all of the kids' legs were broken and didn't work.
I was sick of the whining (by my sweet son)
and grabbed a good ole grocery cart and loaded em up for the rest of the time.

White Trash Trick or Treating at its finest!
(and because I'm an awesome friend, Holly got to pose with them! lol)
(and because I'm an awesome mom, Anden was in the corner in timeout for knocking Taylee down)

Finally we loaded up in the car and headed back home!

Usually every year we carve pumpkins together.
This year we simplified it.
Painting pumpkins it is!
(don't mind the underwear girls! just trying to salvage their costumes)

Oh and before the night's activities began,
I decided I should actually be domestic and whip up some homemade Halloween Soup!
(chicken noodle soup with adorable halloweeen shaped pasta)

Let's just say it was a SMASHING HIT!
Or maybe just SMASHED
Or maybe only HIT the bottom of the garbage can.

Um this is what happens when you're juggling too many things
and forget to turn the crock pot down
BEFORE you go out trick or treating.

Soggy noodles anyone?
(for my ounce of pride, it still tasted phenom IF you didn't eat the noodles!)

And this is why I stick to the crafty side of things.
