Scout Awards

Date: April 22nd

At the Scout Pack Meeting this month
Anden was awarded his Wolf badge!

We've worked really hard on finishing this rank.
So he was more than excited to be called up front
and tipped upside down! :)

Now on to the next badge!

Driving Miss Laiky

Hey Mommy!
I'm just gonna run a quick errand.
Don't you worry!
I'll be right back.

Off Road Races

Date: April 25th

Sometimes we just have to give in to our inner red neck.
So we headed out to the

We even had Heather, Merit and the kids meet us there.

I figured we would be hot and sweaty!
But our random weekend of clouds, breeze and rain continued!
So it was perfect and even jacket worthy!

The cousins!
(yes it took 3 trys and still not all our looking!)

Taylee loved this race buggy!

Huge Jenga!

Buggy Races with kid drivers!

Taylee cheering on her fave car in the background!

This little peanut cracked us up.
Her chubby cheeks didn't quite fit in her ear muffs.
Yes that's actually possible! lol

And finally the main event races!

Everyone had a blast!
The kids were so worn out from camping, sports and races
and crashed asleep on the drive home.
Now that's how you make the most out of one day!

Another Soccer and Baseball Saturday

Date: April 25th

Ryan and the older kids
rolled into the house 30 minutes before Taylee's soccer game.
Considering that they smelled and looked
like they rolled in the camp fire,
I threw them in the shower and then shoved them in their uniforms.
Then off we ran to the sports fields!

First up: Taylee Soccer Game #3

They played another tough team!
The won 1-0.
Taylee didn't score
unless you count the 6 dribble down the field
and shots that barely missed the goal!

One day Taylee & Xaida will figure out they're on the SAME team! lol

Laiklyn happily half crawled along the ground
finding leftover lost snacks in the grass!

After the game we had enough time to grab lunch at Wendy's
and then head to the baseball fields.

Next up: Anden Baseball Game #358

We won 23-1
Back to our usual selves!
I guess last week really was a fluke when we got thumped!

Then we ran home and threw Laiklyn into bed for a quick nap
before we headed off to our next adventure!
The Off Road Races!

Church Camp Out

Date: April 24th

We decided at the last minute to head up to the
Ward Camp Out Friday night.

It had been pouring rain off/on all day
so I worried they would cancel it.
But nope we all trudged on!

So we threw everything in the cars
and headed out after school.

One of the perks of living at the very northern tip of Phoenix
is that you're already so close to the mountains!
It took exactly an hour to be in the cool pines at our campground!
It was a balmy 60 degrees!
Ahh love it!
Except of course I packed plenty of warm clothes for the kids
but not myself! Brrr

Taylee innocently colored

While Anden and Owen thought they were secretly starting a fire

After they used half a box of 300 count matches,
they moved on to playing with their other friends

Finally we had a group dinner and hung out.
Then I literally wrestled Laiklyn to get her to sleep
and missed most of the rest of the evening.

But I did catch these two pyro's back at it.
They officially used 280 of the 300 matches.
But by golly they started that dang fire! lol

The girls and their glow sticks/rings.

The kids had a blast!!

We took two carloads.
Me and the girlies in one car.
Ryan, Anden & Owen in the other car.
You see there was no way Miss Laiklyn was going to sleep in a tent
and thus keep the entire campground awake all night.
So her highness and myself had to come home later that night!

At first I secretly thought I got the good end of that deal.
I still get to chill in the mountains for a few hours
but then sleep in my warm comfy bed.
Little did I know that Laiklyn was going to keep me awake
A.L.L.
night
long
due to her dang teething issues.
Ugh guess I might have been better off sleeping on a rock in the woods! lol
Needless to say all the campers and non campers were all very tired the next day!!
But a fun time nonetheless!
