Idaho Trip - Dec 24

Date: 12/24 "The REAL Christmas Eve"
Location: Blackfoot, Idaho Falls

We lounged around Dad's house in the morning.
Then got ready and headed to Idaho Falls
to see the rest of the family!

First we met at Nate's for a Cousins Photoshoot.
It's been 2 years since our last one!
Kyrrigan didn't even exist then!
So it was definitely time for an update!

The kids were so cute and funny!
We even managed to get a few good shots!

Brylee - Age 9
Anden - Age 7
Jeslynn, Noah, Taylee - Age 5
Kyrrigan  - Age 21 mos

Then while we were at it we threw all the adults in for a picture too!

Our fingers and toes were literally frozen!
Back inside for some games!

While we crafted with the kids,
the rest of the adults used the escape to chat and relax!

Now back to the kid table...

Once we finished making our reindeer heads (aka hats),
we divided up into families for a very competitive game.

Snowman Making

Each  team was given 3 rolls of toilet paper, 3 black buttons, red scarf.

I swear Ryan was more excited than this to be the "snowdummy".
Ok maybe not really! lol

READY, SET, GO!!
Let's just say we're a competitive bunch!
I almost fell over I was so dizzy from running around Ryan
50 times in 30 seconds wrapping him in toilet paper!

The finished product and their teams!

For moral reasons Nate opted out of the game.
He just couldn't be part of wasting precious toilet paper.
For a consolation prize we told him he could have all the used toilet paper afterwards! :)

Except for it turned into a toilet paper fight!

We couldn't put the butt wipers away without Taylee having her turn being snowmanified!

Then we all loaded up and drove over to Mom's house.
We ate a super yummy dinner.
Then had our little Christmas Eve Program!

The kids patiently waiting for it to begin!

We were cracking up at the little girls.
Prim and Proper!
(and probably the only time we'll see this!)

Unfortunately my camera got bumped to the wrong setting.
So most of the pics are a hot blurry mess!
Oh well I guess that's pretty much how the kids were anyway! lol

The little program went seamlessly...well until the last 5 minutes.
The kids were getting a little restless.
Anden is the only big brother in the clan of kids.
So whenever we're around he feels the undying need to show his fellow cousins
how to torment a little sister.
Several times during the program I gave him the "do and die" look.
He knew he was out of my reach and therefore "invincible" in his mind.
Well to this point it had just been minor pokes and pinches upon Taylee.
We were singing the final song,
Mom was innocently playing the piano not seeing what would happen next.
The kids were calmly enjoying themselves.

Then I glance over as Anden has his hand outstretched across Jazzy
while teasing Taylee that he's gonna smack her.
Right when I was ready to scold him,
Taylee leans away from him
but leans too far
and falls out of her chair
and smack into the Christmas Tree.
The Tree is swaying and about 2 seconds from crashing down in the middle of the room!
Taylee is stuck under the Christmas Tree with legs in the air!
Mom is still cluelessly plunking away Christmas songs on the piano
and the crowd filled room is still singing.
I leap out of my chair, grab Anden by the arm
& drag the pint size party crasher out of the room!
(For the record I did at least pull Taylee out of the tree
while simultaneously rippping Anden out of his chair! lol)

When we get to another room I desperately ask him why in the world he can't just keep his
hands off his sister and leave her alone!
Clearly I'm frustrated and humiliated that only my children are the ones tormenting each other
during the middle of the family Christmas program.
He calmly looks at me and defensively declares,
"I never touched her.  She fell on her own.
I was just showing her a booger but I hadn't decided if I was even going to wipe it on her."

I was momentarily speechless.
Do I thank him for the blunt truth?
Do I laugh?
Or do I continue to scold him?!

Either way,
It's not a real Christmas Party until someone crashes into the Christmas Tree!!

Whenever I sit my camera down,
a miniature human grabs it.
Still not sure who took all of these pics! lol

I'll assume it was this little girl!

Thanks for catching my son shooting down Baby Jesus' stable.
Nice.
But I'm scarred more from Luke & Mel's poses! lol

Apparently when we were all leaving,
Nate was just now eating...or still eating?!

We did finally make it to our car and drive back to Blackfoot in one piece.

A little snuggle time with Papa Nolie
before being whisked to bed.
Our 2nd Christmas was in fact in a few hours!
