Anthem Days Carnival

Once again it's that time of year for...

Which means exciting overpriced carnival rides!!

We made the kids (particularly Anden) hold out until Saturday night to go to the carnival! He talked about it all day. I knew which rides to avoid due to last year's mishaps. So we were on a mission to see how quickly we could race through $50! (spoiler alert: took 15 mins)

First Up: The Train

He takes this very seriously

The Big Slide

Clearly I was a tad more scared than Anden.

Only I understood that a see through rotted square foot of burlap going 60 mph was no match with the asphalt looming below

The Mirror Maze (and the over delighted Carnie attendant)

Against my will, Anden was sent in to roam alone. He was completely disoriented with the mirror maze and had no idea which way to turn. Right after I snapped this pic, he excitedly found the right path. He smiled huge at us and briskly walked SMACK face first into a mirror wall!! He hit it so hard that it knocked him back a few steps!! I didn't know whether to cry for my poor confused hurt son or kick my dad...who was laughing so hard he could barely breathe. Luckily, the Carnie also stopped laughing long enough to jump to his rescue and help him through the rest of the maze. I've learned something about myself; it's only funny when someone else's kid hurts themselves!

Anden spent the rest of the night with a BIG RED welt on his forehead.

The Jungle Zone

The most excitement of Taylee's night

The Trucks

At least someone wanted to ride in the stroller
