Happy 4th of July!

We began with a festive breakfast to start off our holiday!

Then we played and played and went to the park.

While managing not to melt in the heat and humidity!

(previous night was the 1st big monsoon storm of the season - which means sticky day today!)

After naps, we hit up the water park with the Mortensens.

Our patriotism was on full display!

We didn't leave the park until 6pm.

So we grabbed a quick dinner,

rushed home for baths

and prepped for the grand firework display.

I personally thought it would be in the best interest of exhausted pint size humans

to postpone until another day.

But by the time I blinked,

Anden had gotten out the entire stash of fireworks

and had them neatly lined up on the table for me.

Ok Ok, I'll bend the bed time rules just this time!

So we let the Mortensens know to get on over.

And it only took 10 mins of firework action before

several neighbors joined the fun too!

I have been beyond thrilled that fireworks are now legal in AZ this year!

Sparklers have been desperately calling my name for 10 yrs!

However I didn't find out until last night

that they're still illegal in Anthem.

Oopsie! :-)

My popularity was suddenly put into perspective.

It wasn't that everyone wanted to hang out with me!

It was actually that we were the ONLY Anthem residents breaking the law.
