Maxx the WonderMutt

Those of you that know me,
know that I'm not an animal lover.
At all.

However 8 yrs ago I inherited
Maxx the WonderMutt.

It was a HUGE transition,
to say the least,
to now have an inside dog for the first time in my life.

But I grew to tolerate appreciate Maxx.
He really was a great dog.

I nicknamed him "WonderMutt"
because that's just what he was.

Jeremy found him in the desert when he was about 14.
Jeremy's 34.
Meaning Maxx is 20!!
(yes that means 106 in dog years!)
That's unheard of.

I would joke that I was going to write my Will to Maxx.
Since clearly he was going to outlive ALL of us!

Well sadly, he didn't.

On December 13th,
right after our Christmas morning,
Maxx took a sudden turn for the worst.
We knew it was his time.
It was devastating.

The kids went to Grandma's that afternoon.
So we could take Maxx to the Vet.
He barely made it.
They helped him transition to doggy heaven peacefully.
It was one of the saddest experiences I've ever been a part of.

It was pouring rain all day.
Fitting for the mood.
And quite a way to top off an already tough 2011.

However in hindsight,
Thank you Maxxers for knowing the timing.
Because we left for Idaho 1 day later.
And wouldn't have been there for you.

Rest in Peace Buddy
(2 wks prior he was living it up in the snow in Forest Lakes!)
