Sundays can be LONG days when church doesn't start til 1pm.
Today the kids decided to build a huge fort.
I hate messes
but how can I say no when I remember how much fun blanket forts
were when I was a kid.
(We made the entire basement into a fort once! But I'm not giving the kids any ideas! ha)
They played in there all day Sunday!
That night they BEGGED us to let them sleep in there.
Normally I would nix that idea quickly on a school night.
But oh well, what the heck!
Needless to say they were beyond thrilled with the Fort Slumber Party!
Anden quickly learned Monday morning why you don't jump up
when you're underneath the table section of the fort!
We let them keep the fort up on Monday as well
and again Monday night the begging for another sleepover began.
We figured they did pretty well the previous night
so we became ultra cool parents and let them have one last night in the fort!
Tuesday after school we were doing chores.
Anden was outside with Ryan mowing the lawn
while Taylee and I were inside taking the fort down
so we could start to prep for her upcoming birthday party.
When Anden came inside and saw the fort was gone
he immediately burst into tears!
Wow didn't think I would get that reaction!
Needless to say I promised him they could recreate it another time
and that I would also forewarn him next time I decided to demo it!
Oops! :)
