Happy Halloween

I loved that Halloween was on a Saturday this year! An entire day of fun activities together as a family. Jeremy and the kids spent the early morning coming up with more scary decorations for the front yard. Taylee was more into being a girl than spooky decor.

As I went to check on them, I happened to walk by Anden's pumpkin and started laughing again. Seriously?!

Then we went to Anden's soccer game. We're pleased to report that we WON!! Somehow we were the team that dominated with 10 times as many goals. Sadly, none of those were by our child. Once again we had to bribe and beg for him to play. When he did he was the stray kid spinning in circles, staring at the clouds, running the wrong direction, playing goalie (against his own teammates again) or yelling "rrahh" or "boo" at every kid that sprinted by him. Maybe soccer isn't his sport after all? We're confused by this considering he's very coordinated, athletic and competitive. Oh well. The other parents "kindly" assured me their child was also like that at age 3. I don't know if I believe them. At one point, Jer suggested we just go home. One minor problem, I was the parent in charge of game treats. So there we all sat on the sidelines, Anden included, and watched until the end of the game. Then Anden was thrilled to run and pass out the treats. Spooky popcorn skeleton hands!

The rest of the players are scoring on the other end of the field
(My fave!)
Anden's preferred position - Goalie

Waiting for the game to End

Who needs sports when you're this cute?!

After soccer, the kids crashed for naps. During that time, Jeremy and I scraped together new costumes for the big trick or treating night. Of course, I came up with a new idea that morning. Jeremy loves when I do this. Taylee's cute little flower costume will just have to make it's debut later.

Somehow the day slipped away and it was also sunset! (happens around here at 5:30!) So I hurried and threw together dinner. We had Spiderweb Pizzas and Mummy Dogs! (imagination required)

(It was so cold the other night that I broke out Anden's footy rocket jammies from last year. Apparently he has a long lost undying love for them. Hasn't taken them off in 3 days.)

It was now almost time for the big costume unveil. Grandma, Papa Larry, Taylor and Trentyn would soon be here .....

  1. So much to do;
    Not enough time;
    Each hour a memory;
    Not enough "Papas" present;
    A hug, a prayer, and get ready to start all over again.
    You give me "burners" in my heart;
    And tear drops on my keyboard!
