Labor Day 2011
We decided to really "labor" and go for a hike!
This was the kids' first experience hiking.
(ya so we're more of a motorized family! lol)
They did AWESOME!
Nevermind that it was already 97 degrees and muggy at 8am.
But we did it anyway!
As we were leaving, I excitedly told the kids
"Maybe we can see some wildlife!"
Then we drove down 2 houses and ran into this.

Ok Check! Let's go back home to the A/C now!
Ok ok so I was just LOUDLY thinking that.
But we continued on.
Many moments were spent doing this...
Anden spitting water at me.
Taylee whining about the heat.
Both stopping every 3 steps to pick up "golden" rocks
And loading 'em into Mommy's pockets.
But we kept trudging on!
The kids hiked the entire way up by themselves!
I drew the line at putting these in my pockets.
We took breaks.
Some were appropriate.
Some were not.
We gave magic kisses.
When someone tripped and landed on his forehead.
We admired the beauty from the TOP!
We perfected our matching "CHEESE" faces.
We made use of the homemade gym.
Where the random guy was working out when we arrived.
But most importantly,
We celebrated the victory together!
And then I proceeded to carry one little tired girl the whole way down
while holding onto another tired little boy that was peeved
he was the older sibling that had to walk.
But we were all smiling when we hit up McDonalds after for breakfast!
