Fall Break - Part 1

We did a last minute California trip for Fall Break.
Well actually only Anden had Fall Break last week.
But Taylee had Monday off also.
So we decided what the heck and loaded up Saturday afternoon en route to Carlsbad.

As soon as we arrived we grabbed food and hit the beach!
In the dark!
The kids were beyond giddy that we finally made it there!

Then we crashed asleep.
Big day ahead!

The next morning we ran outside to see where we actually were!
Ahhh the smells, sights, sounds of the ocean!
It's been WAY too long since I've been there!

We grabbed breakfast from the lobby and bolted over to the beach!
We packed the kids' scooters so that was a total hit!

First we found this man making enormous bubbles!
We bugged him for quite awhile! :)

Then they both took turns jumping and popping the massive bubbles.
And they got soaked.
Guess they didn't quite think through the result
of popping a gigantic bubble over top of your head! :)

Then it was down to the beach for a quick play before we headed to Legoland.
There was a pretty steep hill to get down to the ocean.
Before I could holler "DON'T DO IT" Anden was flying down the hill.
Both Ryan and I lept in front of Taylee to stop her from going next.
We learned from our last mini vacay.
No road rash this time sweetie!

And of course it took mere minutes before the crazy boys were in the water!!

The girls watched from a dry location and played in the sand!

And that too lasted a few minutes before she ditched me also!

And then the body surfing began!

Good thing Anden's super power underwear magically kept his pants clinging on!

Finally we drug ourselves back to the hotel to clean up for the next event.
Bye beach! We'll be back later today!

And Hello Legoland!!

The kids were SO excited!!!!
I've made them wait until they were both tall enough for most rides
before coming to a major amusement park.
So this has been an "eternity" for them!

Next we went to Pirate Reef ride.
There were big warning signs everywhere stating
"You WILL get VERY WET!!"
Needless to say I immediately opted out.

I tried to talk the boys into doing this ride last before we went home.
But they didn't blink.
Taylee decided she wanted to also.
Until she saw the riders come back soaked.

So the boys stripped down (as much as they could!)
and the girls stayed on dry land and cheered them on!

Then we ventured over to Castle Hill.
They had sorts of cool things for Halloween!

Anden was stoked when he ran into these massive Hero Factory guys!

We timed our day to watch a couple of 4D shows.

Then we rode as many rides as possible!!
Our favorite was Lego Technic Coaster!!
We seriously rode it like 5 times!

Anden's hair kills me! lol

Eventually we stopped for a late pizza lunch.
To our surprise,a REAL Lego man walked by.
The kids ran right after him!

I was freezing and wearing Anden's jacket.
It fit perfectly.
Then Taylee wouldn't stop wiggling, as usual, and
fell out of her chair.
I guess Ryan thought the scene was funny and took a pic!

Then we were off to fit in as many more rides as possible!

Eventually we split up and the girls went to meet a Princess
while the boys went to the Chima 4D movie.

Taylee's so cute and wanted her pic taken by all the Halloween decor.

Taylee and the Lego Princess.
Ya we both looked at each other afterwards and said,
"That was it?!"
We wanted a lego shaped princess not a human! lol

We busted through each inch of Legoland to make the most of our day.
With 30 mins until closing we ran over to

Ryan finally wanted his picture taken too!

The aquarium was actually really big inside!
Lots of exhibits for the kids to see, touch, smell (or maybe that was just me complaining of the smell!)

Petting the starfishes

The kids were laughing that these guys were stuck together.
I told them they were sea horsing around (lol I know I'm so funny)
But in reality it's prob some mating technique!
Figured I would leave that part out! lol

With 20 secs to spare until closing we headed on out of the park.
What a fun day at Legoland
But honestly nothing beats the good old fashioned beach!

And that's just what we did afterwards
Rode scooters down to the beach for the night!
