Sonoma/Napa Valley Trip - Part 2

Date: Sept 15th

We woke up early and met in the hotel lobby for catch the bus to go golfing!
The funny thing is we literally had NO idea what the agenda was for the weekend
or why this was even such a supposed amazing trip to be on
until after we checked into the hotel!! lol
So I had NO idea it was the Indy Car Race weekend and that Alarm.com
sponsors the Andretti Race Team.
So that's the reason for the weekend and then to just wine and dine us the rest of the time!!
I did at least know we had the option to go golfing or to the race track for the qualifier races.
We chose golfing.
So at least I had packed clothes for that! lol
I however didn't know it was at a fancy golf club smack in the middle of a vineyard!
So pretty!!

Chardonnay Golf Club
And yes there were only 3 wives that went golfing.
But we tore it up! ;)

Our foursome was us and Ryan's owner Mike and his wife Melody.
We had SO much fun with them!
Just laughing and goofing around the whole time.

Yes Mel did hit one of the geese with her golf ball! lol

And yes poor Ryan spent most of his day out in the trees looking for his balls! lol
He's got some power behind his swing...now if only it would go straight! ;)

Oh there he is again! lol
He found his ball!

This is classic Arizona girl....when she leaves the Arizona heat!
Nobody told me I needed to bring a snowsuit!
Ok so it was in the 70s.
But that's literally winter weather for me!

Yes he really did eat that grape!
And then he talked me into eating one too!

We may look all cool and collected
but we were actually really competitive!
Little did Ryan know (and myself lol) that I still have some golf skills
just dusty and unused.
But they came out today!
He only beat me by 2 strokes on the front 9.
So I decided I better really start playing on the back 9.
We were neck and neck.
I pulled away with a few stroke lead.
By golly I was possibly going to beat my husband...in front of his boss! haha

On the last hole I was up by one stroke.
It literally went down to the final put.
He made an awesome long put.
I had the last shot that would have beat him by 1 stroke.
And I missed my easy putt!!!
Then made the next one and we ended up tying each other! haha
(I told him I missed that putt on purpose to save his ego from beating him! lol)

We finished the 18 holes in style!
What a fun round of golf!

And as soon as we finished the course and took these pics,
I checked my phone to see a bunch of texts that Anden had busted his lip open and was on the way to Urgent Care!!!
UGH!!!
He had a football game that morning, which I assumed he must have gotten hurt then.
But oh no.
He was swimming after the game and fell off a raft and smacked his face on the edge of the pool!!
I felt SO bad that I wasn't there!!
Go figure he's never had stitches.
So I was on facetime with him for the next 2 hours as they sent him from Urgent Care
over to the ER.
Poor kid!
But he was so calm and chill about it all!

Everyone finished golfing and we were driven back to the hotel
to get ready for another fancy dinner.
So I just kept Anden on speaker so I wouldn't miss anything.
Gosh I'm so grateful for technology!!!
I was able to talk to the doctors and be involved with every decision.

And now his new lip for the next 2 weeks!
It sure does look better than a few hours ago though!!!

Luckily his stitches episode ended right as we were all meeting in the lobby to head to dinner.
So we sent him our loves and hung out.
Then we loaded up back on our limo bus
and headed to Andretti Winery.

The Andretti Race Team invites all their sponsors out for each year for a big meet and greet
and dinner before the championship race.
The entire Race Team was there and all their employees/families.
Then us random people that had no idea we were even in town for the Indy Championships! lol oops

The dark hair shorter guy is Michael Andretti, Mario's son.
He's the one that runs all the operations.

There's the grandson Marco Andretti.
He's one of their drivers.

And this guy is Ryan Hunter-Raey.
He won the qualifiers today and is favored to win it all tomorrow.
(and yes I did google all this information right before we walked up to meet all these guys! haha)

Ryan Hunter-Raey

Marco Andretti

And this other famous guy is my husband! ;)

The dinner was held outside on the grounds of the vineyard.
It was so gorgeous!
And SO dang cold once the sun set!

And yes that's legendary Mario Andretti!
Such a cute little guy!

Then it was back to the hotel to kick back before a long day at the races tomorrow!
And to let it sink in what we were able to just be a part of!
Such a cool night!!
