Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Today was decided to be our last day. We figured we better try and beat the holiday exodus out of Vegas. The drive back to AZ can be a nightmare over Hoover Dam. On our way out, we decided to swing by Green Valley Ranch again...for the THIRD time to see if the carousel was working. Third time's the charm. That dang carousel actually does operate!
We said our goodbyes to Lyndsay and Aaron and headed on our way. We weren't even to Boulder City before the traffic jams started. UGH! So we did a quick U turn and decided to head the Laughlin way home. The kids weren't the happiest campers. We had to make a 5 minute absolute chaotic scramble pit stop on the side of the road to tear apart the car looking for Taylee's binky....to no avail. She would just have to cry the whole way home while our last nerve quickly fried out. I admitted defeat and climbed back into my seat. A short while later, I felt something underneath me. Oh lovely, the binky was under my butt the whole time.
After making the detour through Laughlin, we eventually made it back on the main road to Phoenix. It felt like we drove 4 hours before we ever made it to Kingman! But in reality, I think it was 5 hr drive total instead of the usual 4.5 hrs. So not too bad. Luckily the kids slept most of the way home and therefore I was able to spend hours downloading ALL of the trip pics on my laptop!
