Bring on the Rain

This past weekend it was just me and the kiddos. Jer took his annual guys trip to the cabin. We were jealous that he would be chilly and we would be melting. To our shock and delight, we had freak weather and it was overcast/rainy all weekend!! Seriously didn't even get above the 80s! Woohoo! (on a small note, it was also prob 80% humidity but I pretended to ignore that part...until my clothes melted to me).

Don't get me wrong. We love sunshine...but we are spoiled and get that 362 days a year. So the rare overcast/rainy day is definitely exciting! The view from our backyard on Friday afternoon. It seriously looked like this ALL weekend!

Needless to say, we took advantage of the abnormal weather and played outside most of the weekend. On Friday afternoon, I went back inside to get everyone drinks. Obviously the kids (ANDEN) made use of the 5 mins of non supervision. I came back out to this mess.

Anden was a bit perturbed that I cut off his water supply.

The mud was soon overrated and Taylee took to lounging instead

C'mon kids. What's wrong with a normal sandbox?
You had to turn it into a mud wrestling pit?

At least Anden knew the importance of keeping his clothes clean.
And kindly undressed Taylee as well.

  4. "Streakin' in the Rain"
    --Gene Kelly & Papa Nolie--

    I'm streakin' in the rain
    Just streakin' in the rain
    What a glorious feelin'
    I'm happy again
    I'm laughing at clouds
    So dark up above
    The sun's in my heart
    And I'm ready for love
    Let the stormy clouds chase
    Everyone from the place
    Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
    I walk down the lane
    With a happy refrain
    Just streakin',
    Streakin' in the rain"

    With Sand in the Showdows!!
