Soccer Games #2

On Saturday the earth must have tilted
because we went from summer to winter overnight.
It was ridiculously cold & windy.
Even for normal non wimpy Arizonans it would have been cold!

And of course I had just last week packed away all the winter clothes.
So we dug out long sleeve shirts, coats, blankets
and headed to soccer anyway in 52 degrees.

Anden's game was at 9am.
Luckily for me,
he showed up proudly looking like a burn victim.
He wouldn't let me wash off the face painting from the night before.
Awesome.

Anden has no fear to get right in there and fight for the ball.

And sometimes may be a bit too aggressive.
(I apologized to the parents for that one)

Getting last minute instruction from his coach
(or maybe reminders not to tackle?)

GO ANDEN!

The Sharks did tons better this week and won!
But Anden could care less.
He has as much fun wrestling with his teammates on the sideline
as he does playing soccer on the field.

I'm quickly having to accept that not only is he the class clown
he's also the instigator of mischief.
His teammates love his funny personality.
His coach....um maybe not so much.

Next up, Taylee's game!
Don't let the pictures trick you.
The sun came out at times but it was colder/windier than Anden's game!
The poor kids (and spectators) were beyond freezing!

Cheering on their sisters!

This is by far my fave pic of the day!
When a situation gets scary just close your eyes, grin & bear it!
(and of course stick your tongue out)

Any guesses on what she's saying?
"MOMMY I'M FREEZING!"

Once the hypothermia set in,
the motivation to play plummeted.

Taylee begging to come off the field.

Refusing to play without her blankey!

And their fave part:
Handshakes and Treats!

We went straight home and turned on the fireplace!
lol no joke
