Idaho Vacation - June 27

Date: Thursday June 27, 2013
Location: Las Vegas, Idaho Falls, Island Park

Miracles do happen!
We were out of the house on time
and to the airport on time
and managed to shove 7 people, carseats and luggage into one SUV!
And then successfully drag all of that onto the plane!
Phew!!

Our seats were all split up.
Ryan kindly offered to take the only solo seat.
He was punished for his "unselfishness" while he slept
by us loving folk behind him!

Aaron wandered up 4 rows to start the work.
The Anden & I finished off the masterpiece!

Shockingly Taylee fell right asleep.
I guess the combo of being strapped down,
no electronics,
and the humming of the plane taking off
got the best of her!

Let's just say it was the calmest flight I've ever had with this crazy little wee one.

However this other little wee one was busy busy the whole flight!

Finally we snagged her to play in our row

After a quick flight,
we landed in Idaho Falls.
Anden shrieks,
"WHAT THIS ISN'T IDAHO!!  WHERE'S THE SNOW?!"
Apparently we need to make more summer trips here.
Because we seem to have this same amnesia problem every time.

We gathered up our bags and mini humans
and had about enough time to smell the airport flowers,
say hello to Mom,
and load up to head the additional 1.5 hrs to the cabin!

1 four hour drive to Vegas,
1 shuttle,
1 tram,
1 plane,
1 Time zone,
1 ninety minute drive later...
and we were in mountain paradise!!
It takes so much effort to get our brood there.
But it sure is worth it!!

We were in our swimsuits and down to the lake in a flash!

Then Anden thought it would be funny to rock the paddle board.
Which knocked Ryan off into the 2 feet of water.
And somehow he managed to slice the crap out of his toe!

Off I raced inside to get the first aid kit.

Me, "Well rest assured, we got the first injury out of the way!" as I run past.
Dad confused, "Huh?! You've only been out there 10 mins!"
Me: "Yep we're efficient like that!"
Dad:  "What happened to Taylee now?"
Me: "It's actually not her this time!"

I ran back down to the dock to find Ryan patiently polluting the lake.

We got him all bandaged up and we were back to playing!

However we chose to move on to a safer activity.
Children with sharp fish hooks.

Snack Time and watching from a safer distance!

Starting the crawdad collection

Then the boys ventured out fishing in the canoe

While the girls kayaked!

Finally it was time to break out the motorized toys!
Of course Anden and Ryan were first in the tube!

I forgot to warn them about my Dad's tube driving skills.
They're life threatening.
But they figured that out soon enough!

Then Taylee and I even put our lives in Papa Nolie's hands!

Aaron and Ryan took a turn with all the kids.
We figured Dad would slow it down a notch.
Um didn't happen!
Lyndsay and I gripped the boat seats in fear as we watched helplessly! lol

Crazy Taylee always taking it one step further!

Finally we saved Kyrrigans's young life by pulling her back into the boat with us!

Then the big boys and big kids went for another spin

While Baby K became Papa Nolie's Co-Captain!

Eventually we made our way back to the cabin for dinner.
One of the joys of being up north are longer days of sunlight!
Geez the sun doesn't set until 10pm!
So we played in every ounce of it!

We hung out in the "backyard".
Wouldn't we all love to have this as an every day backyard!!

We finally headed in and got cleaned up.
But there was still some sunlight left.
We couldn't waste it being inside.
So we went for a walk.

We played hide and seek along the way.
Hhmm wonder where Anden is?

Taylee is always so silly.
She kept flipping herself backwards and hanging upside down
while she laughed and laughed away.

But no the day was over quite yet.
Ryan and Aaron had to fit in some dusk fishing.

So Dad and I took the kids for a rhino ride around the island.
We stopped to admire the lake from a different side.

The mighty fisherman came back with a whopping ZERO fish! lol
They were determined to buy better bait tomorrow and conquer the lake!

Finally at 10pm the kids were beyond tired.
We all slept hard that night from such a nonstop fun day!
We seriously just can't get enough of this awesome place!
