California Trip - 11/23

Date: Saturday, 11/23 - THE BIG DAY!!!!
Location: Oceanside, CA

Today was the big day!!!
I had promised myself I wouldn't get stressed or emotional.
Well that's near impossible.
But one less stress for us....
we woke up to a sunny but still overcast day!
No rain though!!
The forecast was now down to 20% rain!
Ahhhh we might escape with a dry wedding after all!!

We took it easy around the beach house that morning.
Ryan and I took the kids for a long walk along the beach.
The wedding was at 2pm.
So my mind was scrambling counting backwards to have enough prep time.

The men ran a couple of last minute errands
while I juggled the kids and trying to fit in a shower.
Advice for others - be prepared for everything to take longer if
everyone's staying in the same house on your wedding day
AND
you have your own kids to juggle and get ready!
Stressful to say the least.
At noon Ryan took off to get ready at his family's condo.
Butterflies took over when he hugged and kissed me goodbye.
The next time I'll see him is at the alter!!
WOW this is REAL!

Melanie took over to set my hair.
Lyndsay took over to do my make up.
Before I knew it the photographer arrived.
So I changed into my dress and he started his work
of documenting the rest of the beauty preparations.

Finally we were ready to load up and drive the 10 houses
down to the wedding venue.
Dad carefully drove me, Anita and Grandma.
I was calm yet nervous all at once!!
I hadn't been to the venue today so I had no idea how the final decor or food looked!
We were running 15 mins behind.
So I knew everyone had to be there.
But yet I knew nothing at all!
Me, Dad and the kids were ushered into a private waiting area inside the home
until our big moment arrived.
I was a bundle of every emotion possible!!

Before I knew it they called the kids out to walk the aisle.
Dad and I looked at each other.
Without saying a word we both took a deep breath.
Out of the house we walked and down through the sand.
Where Ryan was lovingly waiting for me!

The rest I'll have to document another time.
But it was perfect!
Small, simple and an extremely intimate Wedding.
Just what we wanted!
And sunny skies!!
The 40 guests overlooked as the four of us joined together as a family!
My father walked me down the aisle
and also officiated the ceremony!
Taylee was our Flower Girl.
Anden was our Ring Bearer.
That was all we needed.

After the ceremony we were whisked off for pictures.
Then we had a quaint reception afterwards.

Here's a few pictures our photographer posted on his website & facebook.

We ended the event with a beach bonfire and smores!
Then Ryan and I escaped for our much needed night ALONE!
He's always so patient and understanding
and had to accept from Day 1 that we are rarely alone!

This was such an amazing day!
Sorry I took so long to finally share it with you!

After the wedding the holidays took over
and I still have yet to pick the photos I want edited and printed.
But here are the raw images from our photographer for you to view for now!
Enjoy!!
