Soccer Season is officially in session!
Saturday was Taylee's first game!
She has the same coach as last year with most of the same girls.
She was SO excited to start again!
This is definitely her sport.
Earlier that morning she had asked me,
"Mommy are the rules the same as last year that I get a dollar for a goal?"
I told her most definitely!
Then Anden chimed in,
"Well then can I have a dollar too if I hit a triple?"
I happily replied,
"Deal! And if you hit a home run it's $5!!"
(seeing as he's hit lots of doubles but no triple or home run yet!)
Once the financial terms were set,
we were ready for the games that day!
First up was soccer at 9am.
Then baseball at 10:30am!
The kids had quite a fan club come support them!
Ryan's mom, Grammie, and his niece Heidi came up!
Then even one of Taylee's Kinder teachers
(who's the assistant high school girls soccer coach)
came to watch her game too!
They both reveled in the spotlight and did awesome!
Miss Taylee got ahead of the pack and dribbled the ball down the whole field
5 different times!!
Only to have her goal kick blocked by their goalie!
OH so close!!!
Phew my dollars stayed safely in my wallet! lol
We were up 2-1 for most of the game.
Towards the end Taylee got tired and asked to play goalie
where she just goofed around and talked to people on the sideline.
Well to her surprise the other team came barreling down the field
with seconds left in the game
and shot a goal
and she wasn't quite ready to block it.
The whistle immediately blew and the game was over.
Oops lol at least we tied! :)
We snagged the game treats and loaded up to head one block
over to the Baseball fields.
It was Anden's moment to shine now!
Taylee and Heidi had a blast playing together during Anden's game!
They were so cute!
Little did Ryan know that he wasn't going to be kicked back
comfortable watching the game today.
I had instead volunteered him to be a sub coach!
Coach John had sent out an email the night before saying that 2 of the 3 coaches
would be gone for the game and asked if any parents could help.
I emailed back offering up my husband! :)
He's helped several times so it was nothing new.
But now he wouldn't be in the stands chatting with his mom and me!
Today's game was a nail biter!
The opposing team was one of the most competitive we've played.
One of their kids hit THREE home runs!
But we battled hit after hit.
We were up 13-7 with one inning left
and that opposing stinking kid hit a grand slam!
Then a couple more runs came in and it was tie game.
We had one last at bat to save the game.
There was one out when Anden went up to bat...
First pitch and he nailed it into left field!
RUN ANDEN RUN!!
And wouldn't you know it,
he got a triple!!
He probably could have had a home run but we held him at third.
We were all cheering!!
From 3rd base he flashed me a huge grin and the "1" sign!
I'm sure others were thinking he was cheering that they were #1.
But only I knew what he meant.
He was telling me I owed him $1. lol
The next kid got up and got a single that brought Anden in as the go ahead run!
They had last bats and we held them
and ended up with the win!!
GREAT GAME BOYS!!
Post game pic of Grammie and the grandkids!
