Water Slide Make Up Day

Since the Anthem Firework Celebration got cancelled this year

the Anthem Council has been trying to reschedule events

in order to make it up to the community.

On Saturday they did a water slide make up day for 

those that didn't get to play before the event was cut short.

We were there in our hot humid glory to mix up our daily water routine
and partake of the free entertainment!

I was cracking up watching the kids on the biggest slide.

They were airborne most of the time coming down.

About every 10 kids there was 1 that would get off crying that his/her back

got hurt or it threw them too high or into the side etc.

Wimps!

On the other hand my kids were purposely bouncing as high as they could! lol

As I sat there in the grass watching the kids play

(all while sweating my butt off)

it was the one time that I didn't mind when the kids bounded over to me

and jumped on me in all their wet and grassy glory.

I might have even told Taylee to hug me a bit longer.

I'll take any kind of cool relief I can get! lol

We finally split the joint and hit up Circle K for the coveted root beer slushy!

I would like to say we stayed in a/c the rest of the day

but these kids are just too busy to stay indoors for longer than a few hours!

Luckily the storm clouds moved in and the rain too!

So it was a "cool" afternoon/evening that even involved a family bike ride!
