You can take the Girl out of the Country,
But you can't take the Country out of the Girl!
It had been raining all weekend long!
Finally on Sunday afternoon I made an announcement,
"Turn all electronics, including football on TV, off!
Grab a coat we're heading out to play in the desert!"
I got odd looks from everyone.
But I insisted we were going to enjoy this abnormal Phoenix weather!
And with that we all loaded up into the truck for some redneck muddin'!
Yes this is why we bought a truck that seats 6 people!
We're lucky that we live at the northern most point of Phoenix.
So we're a few miles from wide open desert terrain.
We headed up the mountains spitting mud out from our big tires along the way.
Reminded me of good ole Idaho! lol
It was a badge of pride to show up to school with a truck covered in mud after a storm! ha
We stopped along the way to explore.
I remember years ago there was a river bed that fills up during spring and monsoon season.
So we headed that way.
Now it's overgrown with cattails.
We had these along the canal banks behind my house growing up.
So I taught the kids how to push all the "fur" off
and make them go POP!
The kids had never seen these and had a blast blowing them up! lol
I was a tad leery with Ryan and the kids walking into this area.
I swore Lion King himself was going to come crawling out of there!!
We played until the sun disappeared.
Then it was back home in our muddy truck!
