Idaho Trip - 8/21/09

At 4:45 the next morning (is that even considered morning??), the kids were up roaring and ready to go. We wanted to die! We tried to keep them contained and quiet as long as possible. Gotta love when you're at someone else's home and your kids want nothing more than to pounce on anyone that might possibly still be sleeping. So we finally loaded them up and went out to breakfast at 6am. Just what you want to do on your "vacation".

Finally at 8am, we returned and allowed the kids to grace Lyndsay with their presence. We then spent the rest of the morning trying to hunt down rogue doctors that would prescribe emergency medications for random ailments that suddenly plagued me and Jeremy. Doesn't this type of stuff happen to everyone? I was able to secure meds for me but Jer wasn't as lucky. As I was magically healing, Jeremy still was suffering from an intense eye infection. His eyes were totally blood shot red and he could barely open them. I'm sure it's a common thing to see people looking like this in Vegas, however he didn't have a wild drunken night to brag about. So he blindly fumbled his way through the rest of the day. Aaron graciously brought him some prescription eye drops he had. Jer was ecstatic until Aaron mentioned the insignificant detail that those drops were prescribed to his since deceased DOG. Aaron assured him that they were fine to use and he had in fact used them himself before. I quickly gave Jer the "don't even try it" look. I already have one mutt at home, I don't need him turning into another one.

Eventually it was time to cram everyone and all our junk into one car to head to the airport. This was actually more exciting than last time since we had 2 extra suitcases to bring simply to transport wedding gifts home. Talk about a clown car!

We definitely learned from our mistake last trip and thus allowed ourselves plenty of extra time! The airport scene was cool, calm and collected. Anden was just thrilled that he got to ride a bus (shuttle), train (tram) and plane! Oh and don't forget 3 escalators, 2 elevators and 6 times back/forth on the same moving sidewalk. When we finally got on the plane, Taylee crashed and Anden bounced from seat to seat. Luckily he quickly realized that Lyndsay and Aaron were much funner to sit with than us. Peace and silence quickly ensued thereafter.

And yes, I know that having your baby sleep face down on countless stranger's butt germs is probably not the most sanitizing method for a nap. But for the record, I laid her down on her back. It was her inner rebel that won out and flipped her over onto her face.

Just be thankful that you're not blind or on oxygen...like the crew!!
