Oh that note, I realized I never gave a proper farewell to the old Escalade....which we traded in back on the same day as Ms. High Maintenance Mercedes. (ya we really like to drain our savings accounts and do everything at once!) So I have a few parting words....
Dear Escalade,
You truly were the BEST most versatile vehicle we have ever owned. We got more than our use out of you. We have taken you on many road trips. You have been used as a car, truck, SUV, landscaper's trailer, garbage truck, Uhaul, bus, etc. You name it, I'm sure we've done it to you. You never complained, never whimpered, never sputtered. You were always reliable. Yes, we would have put another 100k miles on you if you could have handled it. You have seen a lot in your days with us. Maybe if your windshield or even the rest of you was ever clean, you could have seen even more. But your black exterior and the desert just never were a good mix. Actually, your interior and Jer's lack of cleanliness were an awful mix too. I hope you heard my apologies every time I made Jeremy clear out a space for me to sit....or every time the kid's snacks became embedded into your carpet.
It was with true sadness that we had to let you go. We were lucky to have shared your best years. I hope your well used engine holds up for another family. To your credit, we loved you so much that we decided to stay in your same family....and purchase your truck sibling. Hopefully he continues to bring honor to your name.
And I promise we won't turn him into a prissy city truck that needs to enroll in Sarge's Boot Camp. (ya so I'm forced to watch a lot of cartoons) He looks tough and we will continue to make him earn that label.
