We got up early and were ready to play!
Well let's just say the kids got up early!
They spent the early morning running back and forth between rooms.
While the adults got ready for the day.
Luke voted to see the Hoover Dam
(yes the one we just drove over)
So we loaded up and headed back to AZ!
As the kids were getting restless on the drive,
luckily Luke & Mel remembered a
key ingredient to making this little trip a success
....looking for Transformers...!
Anden was unexpectedly prepared with a Transformer in his backpack!
So he really fit the part!
So while we strolled along on the 145 degree cement,
we reminded them to keep looking for the dang Transformers
and to not focus on the soles of their shoes melting off.
Then we really outdid ourselves
and even hiked up to the bridge to look over the edge!
Little did we know we were about to be BLOWN over the edge!
Ahhh how I love wind.
High heels, 109 degrees, Hiking, 886 ft in the air, Windy, Dizzy
while carrying a 5 yr old with broken legs.
Not a good combo.
Good thing Uncle Lukey helped me out with the 3 yr old!
Whining and moaning aside,
it was pretty cool to see the bridge firsthand!
I just had to ring out my sweaty clothes afterwards!
We stopped at Subway
(ok and McD's for the kids)
in Boulder City for lunch.
Then headed straight back to the refreshing pool!
I think I might have even been the first to jump in!
Anden showing us how to swim with one arm flipper!
Taylee showing us....well just showing us Taylee!
About 30 minutes into swimming,
I notice Taylee had perfected how to swim with her head in the water
while still wearing her floaties.
I immediately went over and took those floaties right off.
If you can do that, you can swim on your own!
I told her to do the same thing now
and TADA...she swam all by herself!!
Realizing she's now a SWIMMER!!
So then the cousin competition forced Jazzy to take her floaties off too
And now we have two new swimmers!
And thanks to Uncle Lukey who got stuck in the middle of the pool
catching and releasing the new fishies!
Anden made use of the swimming lesson distraction to secure
uninterrupted time hitching a free ride on Papa Nolie
Then Brylee stopped performing her solo cheer swim jumps
to do a cheer stunt instead
Uncle Lukey & Taylee inspecting for loose teeth ..or boogers?
The Sunbathers
The Shadebathers
We finally wore these two out!
Then Anden realized they found a pretty cool spot and crashed their naps!
Another Poolside Dinner
After 5+ straight hours swimming,
we finally hauled the tired little ones to bed!
Then Mel and I escaped for a late night Vegas....
Walmart run!
