Lake Powell - Part 2

Location: Lake Powell
Date: Sept 1

We were up bright and early again
and ready to play!!

After breakfast we decided to pack lunches and head to Rainbow Bridge Canyon.
So we loaded up and headed out for day!

The boys navigating the waters

Anden's hair had a mind of it's own!

The little boys chillin'

We stopped at Dangling Rope Marina for gas and ice cream!
And to gawk at the HUGE fish.

Then back into the boat and finally we entered the canyon
with the massive red walls shooting straight towards the sky out of the water!

The boys wanted to pull over real quick and do some cliff jumping.
With my Powell cliff jumping record,
(last time I busted my ear drum open!)
I decided to safely sit in the boat and watch!

Glad to see they're not too manly to give a helping hand.
Literally!

1,2,333333!
There goes Tyler!!

And then Ryan!

Then back in the boat and away we went!

The lake was so low!
But still lots of water to play!
We found a nice little nook of a canyon and tied the boats down.
The kids were off in a flash exploring the surroundings!

The adults made lunch and bribed the kids to come back and eat!
Then we all swam then hiked through the tiny crevice of a canyon.
The kids caught frogs and lizards.

And of course they cliff jumped yet again
in what appears to be the most unsafe location!
But I promise the water was deep!

Ryan and Tyler are
NUTS!!

The kids were jumping off a ledge a little lower.
Go fig Taylee was one of the first to start the whole jumping thing!

But of course Anden was the only kid to jump off top ledge!

Eventually we counted our luck and decided to load up before anyone got hurt!
We played on the drive back to camp.
Well except this little guy!

And the result!

We finally beached at camp and made dinner!
Before we knew it the sun was gone
and the night games were in full swing!

The houseboat parked across the bay gave everyone at least a $50k firework show each night!
The other fam there with us (friends of Ashley's family) brought some of
their one good ones from non-illegal Wyoming too!

Then the men did their annual firework battle.
Literally.
They each stood in the dark on a side of the beach and shot fireworks at each other.
Colonial Style.
We all sat back and laugh.
Totally safe and mature entertainment.

Then it was sparklers and firecrackers for the kids!
Somehow only Anden,Cole, myself and the Dads managed to stay awake for this.
But it was exciting to say the least!
