Taylee's FIVE!!

Wow.
Seriously.
O.M.G.
When did this happen?!

Taylee is officially FIVE!!

This one really snuck up on me.
I feel like I blinked and she grew up!!
As much as I want to just freeze her,
I welcomed this birthday and made the most of it!

Morning Presents!

She chose to open Aunt Brookey's gift first!

Then she tore through the rest of them
(with Anden's help of course!)

She saved Grandma Chris' gift for last!

Well at least she thought that was the last one.
She too has grown out of her bicycle.
So she asked for a new one also.
I hid hers in a different spot.
But I figured she would remember Anden's bday 3 wks ago and know it was coming.
She didn't.

"Taylee can you grab me a towel out of the dryer?"
"Sure Mommy!"

Again I followed with the camera.
Again another child had no clue of the massive sheet next to them! lol

They played with the new toys while I made breakfast
and scrambled to pack lunches for school!

Then I got Taylee dolled up for school.
She was so excited to bring her "pink cupcakes with pink sprinkles!"

Then we were off!

We dropped Anden off first.
Taylee was happily playing with her new DS and eating a banana on our way to her school!

Then she pranced into school with her cupcakes
while all the kids and teachers greeted her with birthday wishes.
She was beaming!!

Taylee and her BFF Peyton

Ms. Lisa and Mommy

When I picked her up from school she was so excited to tell me all about
how everyone loved her pink cupcakes and were so nice to her.
Then she begged me to take her to Subway
(lol have no idea where her sudden Subway love came from. She won't even eat sandwiches I pack in her lunch!)

She wanted a full 6 inch sandwich to herself.
And that little girl ate the WHOLE thing! lol

After we picked up Anden from school we tested out the new bike!

Then we cooled off with Dilly Bars and new glitter sidewalk chalk!

Next we changed and loaded up to head to dinner and the
BMX Bike Races.
Yes
to participate, not watch.
When we asked Taylee what she wanted to do for her birthday.
She chose this.
Which Anden was more than thrilled about as well!
Gotta love my little girly girl tom boy!! lol

Running the little kids practice course while she waited to rent her gear!

Then 5 minutes later the kids were suited up and ready to go.
They were so excited!

Anden has done this once before.
But this was Taylee's first time.
When we pushed them up to the starting gate and I realized how steep it was,
I was beyond nervous for her!!!
But she didn't even blink an eye!
She was the tiniest kid, let alone girl, out there.

Anden went first and was a little pro!
Such a little stud!!

Then Ryan and Jeremy explained to Taylee how to get in the starting block,
when to pedal, when to not pedal, when to turn, etc.
Ugh my stomach was in knots.
The last thing I would want is for her to get hurt on her birthday!!
Luckily her confidence was at peak levels and there wasn't an ounce of fear!

Second one in line up

The countdown started.
I was holding my breath yet still cheering
all while silently praying for her safety!
Then the buzzer dinged and the gates dropped!
They held her a split second longer to get the rest of the riders out of her way.
And then she was off!!

"GO TAYLEE GO!!"
I couldn't even believe I was watching my few hours old little 5 year old girl
racing on a BMX dirt track when she had never even been on a BMX bike prior!

She did beyond awesome!!!
There are some huge hills to go down and up.
I was amazed she could pedal up those!
She was adorable!

Coming into the finish line.
Poor little thing couldn't even reach the ground.
So we would run and catch her each time! lol

Anden proudly walking back up to the starting gate!
He was in heaven!

They had an over an hour for the practice rounds before the real races start.
The kids weren't in the real race as we felt they needed practice first.
And you have to be able to balance your bike in the starting gates on your own
which both still needed someone to hold their back tire for now.
But they definitely made the most of that hour.
I think they both went at least 20 times!!
Around and around!
They barely stopped for water or to wipe the sweat!
(Yes people it's still 100+ degrees at night here!)

(video coming soon!)

One quick picture after the races!
Taylee was dying hot so I had already ripped her gear off!
Anden would have worn his gear for the next 3 days if we allowed it! lol

I am SUCH a proud Momma!!
Seriously these are the coolest kids ever!!

I hope you had an absolutely amazing 5th Birthday Taylee!!
You guys are my world!
