Anden starts planning his birthday party
(or maybe just his birthday gift wish list)
months in advance.
He immediately knew this year he wanted a
Minecraft Party.
Well I'm the mom that doesn't play video games
and prefers my children don't play them much either.
(c'mon there's tons of other things to do that don't involve a screen in your face! lol)
So that meant I had some research to do
to suddenly become a cool video game mom!
I was literally polling random kids about their fave part of Minecraft,
what character did what, who had which powers, etc
Well I have to say my research paid off and I'm now knowledgeable
of the Minecraft phenomenon and was officially certified to throw this party!
Introducing Anden's Minecraft Party
The Invite
The Decor
The Favors
The Food
The Games
They first played
Pin the Tail on the Ender Dragon!
Pin the Tail on the Ender Dragon!
But instead of a boring blinfold
they wore the coveted Steve head!
When Anden saw me making it earlier in the week
he asked if I could make a blonde one...just like him.
So I did just that!
Anden was thrilled to wear the Anden head!
The rest of the kids wore the Steve head.
They definitely got a kick out of that!
Anden was adamant that NO girls were invited to his party.
So instead I hired Taylee, Kaitlyn and Heidi to be my helpers. :)
Next up:
Creeper Toss
The eyes were worth 10 points
the mouth worth 20 points.
The boys took this very seriously!

Then we moved on to
Pop the Creeper!
This game was a fan favorite!
You threw darts to pop the Creeper balloons.
But Anden and Ryan had made a little extra surprise.
They put flour inside the balloons.
So when it popped it blew dust just like in the video game!
Noah quickly demonstrated this on his first try!

We came inside after Pop the Creeper and cooled down!!
August birthdays are brutal for heat and humidity!!
The boys were drenched in sweat! ewwh lol
So we had snacks, drinks and opened presents!
The CRAZY Birthday Crew!
The kids got a Mento for each game they played
and an extra one if they won that game.
Finally it was time to see what those Mentos were for!
(since I made sure to remind them they weren't for eating!! lol)
So we headed out front for the
TNT Blast!
They were each given a bottle of TNT
and took turns dropping in their Mentos!
Some sticky icky oozy fun occurred next!
Then Ryan hosed off the driveway
while the kids washed off their sticky paws...
and shoes and arms and legs and faces.
Finally it was Dodge the Creeper free for all madness on the trampoline.
and an extra one if they won that game.

I asked Taylee to model the TNT.
Um from the looks of her poor grill I think she ate the TNT!
Anden actually did want to eat his TNT!

These were the creeper balls before the game.
They were a piece of shredded flat rubber afterwards!
Dang desert landscaping...along with 10 crazy boys!
Eventually the sweaty hyper boys made their way inside for
cupcakes and singing
and just being plain crazy boys!
Candle Time
Aunt Heather did an awesome job entertaining Laiklyn
and keeping her from tearing apart the party.
She finally released her towards the end when people were leaving.
Here comes the Laiklynator!
And don't think that the girls and adults didn't try out those tempting heads too!
