Friday night we had Taylee's big birthday party!
After much debate, we chose a
Cupcake Wars
theme!
She was so excited and patiently waited through both
Laiklyn's and then Anden's birthday parties to get to her own!
This year I decided to have her party at the Community Center
instead of at home since we already had house guests in town
and needed to prep for her next big event the following day.
So we hauled everything and everyone over to the Community Center
and threw the decor together in 30 minutes before the guests arrived.
(yes I did about have a mild...or maybe major panic attack lol)
Luckily it all came together and was so stinking cute!

After the girls arrived they picked their seat at the table.
Their Pastry Chef uniform was at their seat along with their
baking supplies.
First we got all the Chefs properly dressed for the competition.
Then I explained the rules and we dove into Round 1.
Once the girls selected their flavor of cupcake and were back at their seats,
the timer began!
They were SO into decorating their cupcakes!!
Their creativity was amazing!
With one minute left the girls were instructed to move their cupcakes
onto their display stands and finish their overall presentation!
3...2....1.. Hands up!
The girls all threw their hands in the air and backed away from their seats!
Then they each had a chance to explain to the Judges (the Grandmas!)
a few things about their cupcake.
While the Judges deliberated we played "Baking Bingo"!

(which apparently the brothers might have had a little input!)
There was a tie so 2 girls were awarded winner trophies!
We all cheered and then the girls moved their cupcakes over into their
cupcake display cases.
Then then girls picked out their next flavor of cupcake
and we immediately started Round 2!
Although I did let them vote if they wanted to do it solo or with a partner.
They chose solo!
So off they went creating Soccer masterpieces!
I did notice at this point that Brad couldn't contain his inner 8 year old girl creativity
and jumped into the competition as well!
Which meant the other age spectrum joined as well!

We gave the 1 minute warning.
Then again 3...2...1...Hands in the air!
The pizza had arrived so we all ate dinner during the Judging!
Well except Laiklyn who got overlooked while we were dishing up pizza
and had her own version of dinner instead.

Finally it was time to head back inside to find out the winners of Round 2.
This time we had a four way tie so four winners were given trophies!
Then everyone was given a Cupcake Wars medal!
The girls took their soccer cupcakes and placed them with their ocean cupcakes
in their display cases.
Then I gave them the option to make a birthday cupcake to eat
or to pick one they've already made.
Most chose to make a new one (duh of course! lol)
and then we sang Happy Birthday to Taylee and ate our birthday cupcake!
Finally we moved on to present time!
While some still devoured (aka demolished) their cupcake!
I had given the camera to Ryan to take pics.
When I downloaded them I realized he must have gotten bored with present time
and took his own pics instead! lol
Oh and now back to present time!
