Anden's Winter Football Season Recap

Date: Jan/Feb 2017

Anden's football season this time was a weather related mess.

The Winter Season is always shorter than normal 

and condensed into multiple double headers.

Then we had to deal with multiple rain outs, make up games, rain outs again, etc.

Finally the season had already been extended 2 weeks from rain

so they just moved on to the tournament.

The cancellations etc made for a rough time getting our team's momentum going.

So although we probably had the best talent thus far on our team,

we didn't do as well as we hoped.

We got knocked out in the first round of the tourney on some shady calls.

It really tore up the boys.

Ugh I hate seeing these kids hearbroken when they lose and should have won :(

But they'll all be back next season with vengeance and redemption on their minds!

I feel like I was barely there this season in between shuffling Taylee to her games

and chasing Laiklyn while holding fussy Eastlie.

Jan 14th

Who says Flag Football isn't a contact sport?!

Then we had a bye Jan 21st then were in Flagstaff on Jan 28th.

Anden was bummed to miss 2 weeks and a double header!

(but they did win both games so maybe we should miss more often! lol)

Feb 4th

Feb 11th 

Double Header

Feb 18th was another rain out to make up the previous rained out games!

We're doomed in these winter leagues! lol

So they just scrapped it and moved on to the tournament.

Feb 25th

Anden played a lot of defense this season.

He's great at pulling flags and he's quick.

So they needed him in that position too.

It was an adjustment for him to be the running back star to now being on defense.

But he realized there's a lot of "glory" on defense too!

while pushing a crying baby and also scanning the fields to find my runaway toddler!!

Hhmm I wonder why I felt like I missed this entire season!!

As usual Kat made each kid an end of season gift.

Now we're on a month break before Spring Season starts!

As much as we love football,

it sure is nice having my hubby back 3 days/week!

(Oh and Anden too lol)
