Spring Break Mexico Trip - Part 1

Date: Mar 22-25th

We (ok I) decided to head down to Mexico for the kids’ spring break!
I REALLY had to talk Ryan into trusting me that Mexico
can be a safe place for families!
(and that he could survive a few days without carrying a gun! redneck!)
Well he finally gave in and I booked the resort!
We had a total blast!!
And everyone was glad that I was persistent to drag us down there! lol
We all were so excited to get out of town and just play and relax on the beach!
It was so nice to step away from the daily grind and spend time with just my little family!

Laiklyn was especially excited.
She wore her swim goggles all morning while we loaded up and also the entire drive! haha

As soon as we checked into the hotel, we changed and ran straight to the beach!
I forgot my big camera back in the room.
So phone pics will have to do!

They have the craziest tide there.
The low tide is so far out.
Which means it creates all these little tide pools with all sorts of creatures in them!
The kids loved finding crabs, all kinds of seashells and even octopus!
Laiklyn just loved splashing in her "baby ocean pools" lol

Eastlie's first beach experience!

Sunset on a deserted beach!

And back to the pools!

We ventured to the resort next door to eat dinner.
The kids were so brave and tried chicken fingers and fries and rice. lol oh well
But they did love that since they couldn't drink the water
that we splurged and let them have soda for every meal!

Mar 23rd -

The next morning we were beyond anxious to get right down to the pools/beach!
We literally the first family down there! lol
Guess that's what happens when everyone's up at 6:30am whether its vaca or not!

Easy E hung out with me and watched the crazies play

Then the Human Spinning began!

Which meant Taylee was right up there next ready to go!

Nice form Taylee! lol

We set up shop at both the pools and the beach.
Then just wandered between each all day!

I always love the greenery growing along the sandy beaches!

Boogie boarding!
The way this place is situated is along a Gulf,
which means they don't have big hard waves crashing in.
Perfect for kids!
And the water is much warmer than California beaches!

Yep still chilling and holding Eastlie while watching the 3 other kiddos!
Such nice soft sand though full of seashells!

Laiklyn LOVED the beach and ocean!
She rarely sat still...well that's her norm! lol
So I just got shots of her cute tush running away from me!
While Anden and Taylee boogie board in the water!

Perfect shot of Taylee...except the sun blinding her! lol

Perfect shot of Laiklyn...oh wait nevermind

Laiklyn tried to catch that poor seagull! lol
She chased him all over and actually got pretty close!

More treasures to show Mommy!
(and make me hold! Sheesh I needed a whole backpack just for everything they found!)

Hiding Miss Eastlie from the sun with Mommy's hat.
Somehow her hat got left back in the condo!

Eventually we drug ourselves back inside and changed to go out to eat.
We ventured "downtown".
I wanted the kids to see all the shops, fish markets, etc.
Then we ate subpar overpriced food which inevitable would make us sick!
But the views were great! :)
So it's worth it! lol

This is our classic paparazzi shot taken by Anden lol

A cute old Mexican guy serenaded us during dinner.
I now know I need to teach my kids some old music culture.
They didn't know what the song "La Bamba" was.

So between the singing
and a rogue stray cat that kept coming under our table while we were eating,
dinner was pretty exciting!
Laiklyn wanted more than anything to hold the kitty.
I wanted more than anything to escape this trip without someone getting rabies.

We stopped at an ice cream shop for dessert on the way back to the condo.
We knew we were safe it was Thrifty Ice Cream
but all the flavors were written in spanish.
Good thing my kids can pick out Mint Choco Chip in any country! lol
Then it was back to the resort to chill then bed!
