Well it's no surprise what Laiklyn picked for her party theme...
MINIONS!!!
At first I tried to sway her to a more girly theme.
But she was insistent she wanted Minions.
So I rolled with it!
And boy did it turn out cute!
(of course after I turned it into a girly minion party! lol)
Laiklyn was so giddy while I designed this party!
She would run up to my office constantly,
"Mommy show me my minion girls again!!"
She was one happy customer! :)
Now to the Party fun.
Let's just say the only Despicable thing about the party....was the birthday girl herself!!!
Oh my goodness she was in rare form...and not in a good way!!
It all started when I tried to add a little "girly fluff" to her minion shorts.
"It doesn't go like that! Take that pink off! I don't like that!"
Then people started to arrive and it went downhill fast!
She was yelling at all the party guests
and scolding anyone that dare tell her she was the birthday girl,
"I'm NOT the birthday girl! I'm LAIKLYN!"
I desperately tried to cheer her up and distract the pint size terror.
Nothing worked.
Finally I looked at Ryan and we both just laughed.
This is Laiklyn. Through and through. She does what she wants when she wants.
She's SO strong willed but then also so sweet.
She's so incredibly smart and mature beyond her years.
Just depends on when she wants to flip her own switch! lol ugh
We debated just locking the guest of honor in her room...
but figured that wasn't the best parenting technique.
So instead we distracted her outside.
Luckily Eastlie's swing
(that she's way too big for but refused to sit in her own swing)
cheered her up!!
Now back to apologizing to the guests for her inhospitable behavior! lol
Luckily everyone else had a great time!

Once the guests left we dumped the little girls in naps
and cleaned up the house.
Ryan went into the room for a few minutes.
I went in to get him and found him completely passed out.
Umm I guess wrestling with the grouchy Minion all morning wore him out! lol
