Crib Escaping Adventures

Date: Jan 10th

While we were in Idaho Eastlie perfected the art of climbing out of cribs.
She was in a pack and play on that trip and just climbed out
whenever she wanted and came on down to play.
It was a pain in the butt to say the least.

Well upon our return to Arizona she decided that she could just keep doing the same thing.
Except it took a bit more effort to hurl herself out of the crib and splat on the floor.
Multiple times every nap and night she would do this.
We were literally going crazy trying to contain her.
Each time we would hear a big THUD , then her moan "owie"
and then her foosteps running on out of her room.
At least she always closed (more like slammed) her bedroom door behind her.
Then each time we found her, took her back up to her room, put her back into her bed
and threatened/pleaded/begged/bribed her to stay in her crib.
To no avail!
The process repeated endlessly!

Ryan gets up at 4:30am and heads into work about 5am.
(I know, he's crazy but likes those early quiet hours at work before his day gets wild)
One morning while he was getting ready for work he heard footsteps running around upstairs.
Well all of us were asleep.
So he quietly ventured upstairs and found this.

He flipped on his phone light and busted Eastlie hardcore.

Yep she was just chugging down a box of candy while playing on my computer!!!!
I had no idea she secretly doubled as a baby blogger!!
She literally had the box of candy to her mouth guzzling as much as she could
while the other hand was on my computer mouse just clicking away!

This was the final straw.
We were all sleep deprived and miserable!
That next night before I took her up to bed,
Ryan took matters into his own hand.
He grabbed a box of random tools/supplies
and mumbled something on the way up to her room
that she was never getting out of bed again!
Fifteen minutes later he yelled down to me that her crib was ready
and to bring her up to bed.

I literally fell down laughing when I walked into the room.
He was SO proud of his contraption.
If there was a question before, there isn't now.
We will definitely be called into CPS.

I had to compliment his creativity before I kindly asked...
um honey how in the heck do I put her IN the crib??
Do I need to stand on a ladder to lift her over?! lol

Well the problem was solved and she STAYED IN HER BED ALL NIGHT!!
But sadly that only lasted for 4 nights before she figured out how
to tear down the cardboard on one end and jump on out again!
We were leaving on vacation without the kids in a week
and there was no way I could leave her with a sitter with her roaming the house at night.
So I started searching online for a crib tent, straight jacket, electric fence, etc, etc.
By golly who knew there was actually such a thing!!
This arrived 2 days later and we're all back to sleeping the entire night!
(yes Ryan was however a little sad to take down his cardboard masterpiece! lol)
