We love living in a city that has every professional sport.
Right now Anden's obsession is football,
Arizona Cardinals to be exact.
So what a better birthday gift than tickets to his 1st game?!
50 yd line 4th row tickets to be exact.
Only the best for a measly 5 yr old! :-)
A few hours before the game, I let him open 1 early present.
After a treasure hunt through the house,
and finally finding it on top of the projector in the theater.
He tore it open.
We are officially ready now!
We finally headed out to the car and told Taylee good bye.
She was sad she wasn't coming.
In his sweetest sincerest voice, Anden put his hand around her shoulder and says
"You can come watch me do up my seat belt!"
Oddly she took that as a decent consolation prize.
It was 110 degrees and felt like 99% humidity still when we arrived.
So after parking, walking, SWEATING, taking a shuttle bus, walking, carrying him, SWEATING,
we were definitely excited to be blasted with A/C as we stepped into the Arena!
And even more excited when we got to our seats (for me)
And even more excited when we bought a huge bag of popcorn (for him)
Some of the highlights of the game:
- Taking Anden to the bathroom in the FIRST qtr and missing back to back touchdowns
- Saying no (4 times) to the purchase of a $25 plush mini football
- Digging Anden's flip flops out of the french fries/ketchup in the row in front of us after he "accidentally" dropped them
- Watching Anden inhale an entire bag of popcorn
- Correction: Minus the 1/4 bag of popcorn that he dropped and spilled on our feet.
- Listening to him ask multiple times why he couldn't sit all the way up there (pointing to ceiling seats)
- Listening to him beg to please see the view from up there
- Riding the escalator up/down 6 times while missing another touchdown
- Making best friends with the escalator attendants
- Graciously watching the escalator attendant tackle Anden when he raced away
- Getting dizzy while checking out the view from "up there"
- Listening to him plead with me to stay in the seats on top of Mt. Everest.
- "Mommy I like these seats better". Really?!!
- Riding the dang escalator back down to the "bad seats"
- Saying "excuse me, excuse me" for the 15th time to the poor people in our row
- Reminding him that sitting on your head in your seat isn't nice for the people behind you
- Apologizing to the girl in front of him for the 23rd time for pulling her hair
- Desperately attempting to take a picture of us that involved looking at the camera and without popcorn hanging out of your mouth. (Failed on that one)
- Having a Mommy/Anden birthday date.....PRICELESS! :-)
I LOVE YOU BUDDY!!
THANKS FOR A GREAT DATE!
