Idaho Summer Trip 2011 - July 24

Sunday, July 24:
"Pioneer Day"

The first thing I realized on this beautiful Sunday morning is
I'm AWESOME at putting on sunscreen.
At least I'm consistent right?

In the Mormon world, we have a holiday called Pioneer Day.
This day commemorates the day the Pioneers
arrived in the Salt Lake Valley.
I LOVE being in Idaho or Utah on this day
as they make a big celebration out of it.

Dad's ward was held outside in the pavilion.
He spoke during church.
So we all joined in to support him!
Dodging bees and swatting flys the entire time.
It added to the "pioneer" experience!

Afterwards the ward had a picnic.
We all loved laying on blankets in the cool shade!

During lunch Dad surprised us by announcing he & Anita were engaged!
Yep, total shock!
But no worries.
Lyndsay & Aaron topped them.
By announcing they were pregnant!!!!
What a happy day for everyone!

We headed  home and let the kids run wild the rest of the afternoon
while the adults all chatted away!

They ended up streaking naked across the yard
playing in the hose and sprinklers.
Which means it was a fabulous time for them!
