Trunk or Treat 2017

Date: Oct 27th

We had our church Trunk or Treat Friday night.
We just love dressing up in costumes!
(Ok maybe everyone but Ryan, but he's a good sport and fakes a smile! lol)

This year the big kids had all sorts of creepy ideas of what they wanted to be.
(seriously what happened to wanting to be something cute? this dang zombie generation!)
But of course I steered them in a different direction! lol
C'mon it's a church event.
Let's do something that's not half dead.

Finally we decided on an Old MacDonald's Farm theme.
I told the kids to pick something to match.

It went something like this,
Mom: "Ok guys Dad will be Old MacDonald, I can be Mrs. MacDonald
and Eastlie is going to be a chickie!"
Laiklyn immediately yells, "I want to be a kitty!"
Taylee then says, "Ok then I'll be the piggy!"
Anden stalls a bit then reluctantly says with a glimmer in his eye,
"The only way I'm being part of the family theme is if I get to be the Butcher!"
Uhhhhh....
Well if I want to be practical...every farm does in fact need a butcher.
But on the other hand should I be slightly concerned that you want to slaughter your sisters?!?! lol

However I've learned to just lower my expectations in life.
So I told him ok fine.
Heck I was just happy he still would be part of the family costumes!

I had 3 days to pull together everyone's costume.
Usually I'm more on the ball but Eastlie's birthday party took all my time.
Once that was done we dove into Halloween mode!
Let's just say the glue gun got extra use those 3 days to make 2 of the costumes!
(and yes always between the hours of 10pm-12am!)

I finished everything Friday morning! Phew!

So here you go...
The Taylor Harbeck Farm!

Runaway Chicken!!

We invited our friends The Fords to come with us!
Their kids looked so cute!
Taylee and Xaida were hooked at the hip all night!

Chicken Little didn't make it very long!
But her costume was quite the hit!
Everyone loved it! :)

Good thing Trunk or Treat takes about 30 mins to get tons of candy!
Then we headed on home to count our harvest!
(don't mind that I dropped my camera for the upteenth time and these pics are blurry! oops!)

Yes even Easy E got to have a piece of candy before bed! ;)
