After the soccer games,
we rushed straight to the store to pick up some last minute
decorations/supplies for the Stake Primary Dance.
Yep one of my other many duties,
I was in charge of the decorations for the
Stake Primary Daddy Daughter Dance
for the 8-11 yr olds.
So guess who got drug along with me to that as well?!
Yep, Dad did!
So from 1-3pm we rushed around spray painting everything in sight
and picking up supplies.
This is what happens when you don't have time until the day of
to complete your tasks. Ugh!
Oh and did I mention I had $100 budget
to decorate the ENTIRE Stake Center gym?
Yes frugal beyond frugal.
So we loaded up all the gear
and at 3pm we were at the church setting up.
Good thing I had 2 awesome girls on the committee
that totally rocked their assignments!
The theme was
So I ran with the idea & the $100
and I have to say it turned out quite nice!
And honestly,
I really had to stretch the creativity
in order to get the look I wanted for the price!
I designed all the prints and printed for free.
Then I used a lot of decos I already had
like frames, vases, battery candles, etc.
But ultimately
Spray Paint was my best friend! :-)
Sadly I only got a few pictures after we set up.
We draped several strands of icicle lights across the entire width of the gym
to create a ceiling of "stars".
Then we decorated the refreshment tables
and added silver stars & poms all over the walls.
For such a huge area,
the lights did awesome to make it feel somewhat intimate!
And the girls and their dads loved it.
So that's the true success!
We got done decorating a lot earlier than we had planned.
We had 2 hrs to kill before the dance started.
And technically I wasn't required to be there until clean up at 8:30pm.
So my mind quickly did a U turn
and I told Dad to run to the car.
Because we were ditching this joint
and heading to the Dbacks game!!
It was one of my best decisions all day! :-)
Halfway through the game they opened the roof.
I've seen it tons of times.
But I'm still amazed at this awesome stadium!
Even Baxter came to sit by us!
Sadly we had to leave in the 8th inning
to rush back to the church to clean up!
Finally at 9:30pm as we were heading home from our nonstop day
we realized we hadn't eaten dinner.
So at 9:45pm we ate PB&J sandwiches at home.
I'm an awesome host!
(to validate my sliver of pride, I wanted to go to a restaurant but Dad requested PB&J)
I'm pretty postive that I wore out my poor Father.
But now he understands why I don't have time
to call,
to talk,
to eat,
to breathe.
Welcome to my life! :-)
