We took a much needed mini vacay this past weekend!
It was quite adventurous.
We drove a whole hour north.
It was just what we needed.
Relaxation,
Slower pace,
Beautiful scenery
and quality time!
It was freeeeezing!
Yes that does mean a high of 41 degrees!
But that didn't deter us!
We actually loved and anxiously welcomed the change of temp!
First we went to Town Square
and played and played and played in the leaves!
First we went to Town Square
and played and played and played in the leaves!
We played on the courthouse steps
Then we headed over to explore Lynx Lake
Finally it was time to check into the hotel.
The kids LOVE hotels.
They could care less if it's 2 miles from our house.
It's their fave part of any trip!
We immediately hit up the free hot cocoa bar in the lobby,
rode the elevator 4 times,
then headed to the hot tub!
It was indoors with a sliding glass wall to the outdoor pool.
Needless to say,
there were some dares
(and completions)
to enter the frigid pool!
Later we were back in the room getting ready for dinner.
Taylee looked out the window
and screamed
"IT'S SNOWING!!!!"
So down the elevator we flew and on outside to revel in it!!
Now I knew it was a 30% chance of snow
and I tried really hard not to get myself or the kids too excited about the possibility.
So this was definitely one of my fave parts of the trip!!
Yes my children were licking the snow straight off the dusty pool/patio furniture.
How could I hamper their excitement to inform them of the obvious?!
And quite honestly, I was almost ready to do it too!!
Nothing like a first snow fall to make you giddy as can be!
The view on the way to dinner.
I love how the sun is desperately fighting its way into the snow clouds!
After dinner we headed back to the hotel.
To catch the Trolley Shuttle
to the
This was the main reason that spurred the idea for the weekend trip.
It was Anthem Night at the game.
So when I saw this advertised in our local Anthem magazine.
I jumped all over it!
Since NHL is locked out,
we got our minor league hockey fix!
And to our surprise, several of the Coyotes players were
on the Sundogs team keeping in shape while the NHL bickers.
The Prescott Arena is way small.
Perfect for the kids to be up and close to everything!
As soon as we walked in,
we ran into the main celebrity!
Then we quickly realized that the kids were the REAL celebrities.
Anyone that looked at them gave them some sort of freebie!
We had such a fun time at the game!
Then we rode the "Charley"
(Taylee's version of "trolley")
the 3 blocks back to the hotel.
I finished this great day by attempting to sleep
with 2 wiggle worms wrapped around me
all in one queen bed!
More fun to come in Part 2!
