The kids had school off on Monday for Veteran's Day.
So I took off also!
We met up with Holly & the kids
and we hit up
We met up with Holly & the kids
and we hit up
We still were in the middle of our "cold front".
So we bundled up
and were sweating 20 mins later.
The kids had a blast!
We even got to feed
(hurl fruit at)
the Elephant
that had apparently just finished
searching headfirst for the needle in the haystack.
Taylee was less than impressed when we saw the Jaguars
and told the worker
"Oh ya well we have a Bobcat in our backyard!"
But they were impressed with the gigantic tortoises.
Check it out kids, there's Ninjey in 50 years!
Then maybe we'll be able to find where he's hiding!
Then we saw the Grandpappy of all Tortoises.
Maybe on second thought it's not such a bad thing Ninjey ran away.
Because I'm sure as heck not taking care of a pet that could slowly bull doze through my fence.
More Animals
More Caged Animals
We finally made our way over to the Kid's Area.
Seriously?!
What is his fascination with Butts??
At least his friends think he's hilarious.
Lucy picked the most docile animals to pet.
The goats standing ON the bench in the middle of a head butting brawl.
I'm pretty sure this one was their fave animal.
Ok back to real animals
Of course we had to go into the gross reptile, etc exhibits.
These little dudes were my fave!
But considering I already lost Ninjey,
there's NO way I could keep track of these little buggers!
Our last stop was to see the cute little prarie dogs.
As all the other kids were oohing and aahing
while keeping their hands to themselves,
I noticed Anden discreetly bend down,
pick up something,
and chuck it into the exhibit.
Well of course the prarie dog ran right over to it and picked it up.
And wouldn't let go of it.
All of the other parents were totally laughing.
I wanted to die.
Apparently Product Placement occurs at the Zoo too.
"This exhibit is brought to you by Baby Trend"
I snuck a picture with my face shielded
then grabbed the offender and bolted out of there.
And we literally ended on that note.
Good times at the Phoenix Zoo!
