Primary Program

Sunday was our Primary Program at church.
It's one of my favorite weeks in the whole year.
The youth aged 3-11 perform songs, stories, etc.

Taylee was ECSTATIC that she was old enough to be included this year!
They both practiced for weeks memorizing the line they were to give
Taylee had hers perfected,
"Jesus gave me eyes so I can see beautiful rainbows."
Anden's line went something like this...
"I choose the right by helping my Mom"
But in true boy fashion, every time we practiced he ended it with
.."go poo"
..."wipe her bum"
..."go pee"
Needless to say I was mortified and disgusted and tried not to laugh each time.
I kindly and firmly told him that was NOT the right line.
We practiced one last time on the drive to church.
Taylee recited her line perfectly.
Anden recited his perfectly...well at least his own rendition.
I threatened every toy he possessed would be taken away if he really said that in church!
Then I sweated bullets during the meeting
that stage fright would overcome his boyish sense of humor.
Otherwise I would literally slide under my bench from humiliation!

Taylee's turn was first.
Just like the rock star she is,
she reveled in the spotlight and delivered her line perfectly!
Then Anden's moment arrived...
And just like an angel stepped up to the pulpit,
smiled to the masses
and delivered his line.
"I choose the right by helping my Mom....."
and then he smiled again and stepped away.
PHEW!!!

Then the rest of the time I hid my head while Taylee,
on the front row for all to see,
was nonstop wiggling,
rocking her entire row back and forth,
sliding on and off her chair,
waving to anyone she knew,
throwing her arms in the air & dramatically mouthing to me several times
"I'M BORED! HOW MUCH LONGER?!"
"COME SAVE ME!"
Luckily my friend is a teacher that was a row behind her.
And finally held her on her lap the rest of the meeting.
PHEW!!

Again, this is why I love Primary Program Sunday!
You never know what you're going to get!
