The Flamingo Report

Last week at school Taylee also had her first major assignment.

She needed to pick an animal that we saw at the Zoo

and do a research project on that animal

complete with a puppet or craft.

When I asked what her favorite animal from the Zoo was she replied excitedly,

"ALL OF THEM!"

Ok honey well which one then do you want to pick for your report?

Again beaming she replies,

"ALL OF THEM!"

It took me 5 days to help guide her to the perfect animal (singular not plural)

and I set off in my creative ways.

The Flamingo Report

We researched and answered all the questions in the paper part of the report.
But I made her do the writing and majority of the drawings herself!

Then she needed to make a craft of that animal.
We couldn't decide so we did two!
First was a hand print Flamingo!

Then I came up with a Flamingo on a Stick contraption!

We decided that her outfit should coordinate too.
So we dug through her clothes knowing that something had to have
a flamingo print on it.
By golly we found something!
So she proudly wore that outfit on Monday as well as a pink lei
(and of course one for each teacher too!)
and bounced into school with her Flamingo on a Stick!

She had to get up in front of the class and give her presentation

with the Flamingo facts memorized.

We practiced the night before and she nailed it the next day!

Check off her first "big" research project.
