Rookie Teacher of the Year

Date: May 13th

Taylee was lucky enough to get the

BEST TEACHER

for 1st grade.

Her name is Lauren Mackeda.

She was new to Diamond Canyon this year

and so were we.

We learned the ropes together

and her and Taylee became best friends!

She took Taylee under her wing

and gave her extra attention, love and mentoring.

She truly loves her.

And Taylee loves her just as much!

Their relationship completely melts my heart.

Well Miss Mackeda contacted me a month ago

and excitedly told me she got nominated for

Rookie Teacher of the Year

for the entire Deer Valley School District.

She asked if I would write her letter of recommendation.

I graciously accepted and started putting my thoughts on paper.

A few days later I gave her the letter

and her package was sent to the District Office.

I wished her luck as she prepared for her interview with the School Board.

Well another week passed 

and I finally got the awesome news that she won!!

We were all thrilled for her!!

So Miss Mackeda invited me and Taylee to the awards banquet.

We wouldn't have missed it!!

We sent the boys off to Anden's baseball game that night

and we hurried and picked up flowers and headed to the theater.

We cheered and beamed when they called her on stage!

We are so proud of Miss Mackeda

and she truly deserved this award!!

 

 On our way out Taylee wanted to pose on the red carpet

because one day she's going to be a star too! :)

And from there we ran back to Anthem

to catch the end of Anden's game!
