Idaho Vacation - Day 1

Date: June 19th

Bright and early
(as in WAY too bright and 5am type early)
we loaded up sleepy kids and headed to the airport.
Although the Mesa Airport is forever far away
it's still much easier than driving to Idaho!

We finally boarded the plane
(always with a few hiccups with lovely Allegiant Airlines)
and were officially on our way to Idaho!!
We were all SO excited!!

Ryan paid off the flight attendants
and therefore managed to be seated in a row by himself
while me and the three kids were in a different row.
As we were walking the rows looking for our seats
the kids were fighting over who got the window seat.
Taylee won for the first flight.
Ryan glanced at our boarding passes and says
"Wow I didn't even know these planes had a row 37!"
Which immediately meant that we were sitting in the lavatory!
And that was about right.
The last 2 rows were ours.
Along with 6 other babies!!
Bring on the nursery.

So the kids and I get settled in our seats
with Taylee proudly claiming the window seat.
She smirks at Anden as she opens the window to admire her view.
As she turns back to the window to rub it in
she realizes all she sees is a big blue thing.
Yep that's the engine honey.
Enjoy your view! lol

Needless to say it was quite the chaotic flight for me!
The girls did finally give up and sleep for about 20 mins
while Anden poked and prodded me that he was bored.
Oh well I'll take what I can get!!

As we were getting close to landing,
we broke the rules and handed Laiklyn back to Ryan for a bit
so that we could fit everyone in for a group pic!

We finally arrived in Idaho in one piece
and the fun began!!

The kids just stay outside
and run and run and run
when they are at Papa Nolie's house!

Ryan and Aaron put together the new play dome
while the kids supervised.
I recruited Lynds to help me inside finalizing the last details for the reunion.

Eventually we loaded up on the UTVs and headed down to the
infamous Snake River.

All Anden wanted to do is find a crawdad
and by golly he found a massive one!
I personally think it's the hybrid spawn of a lobster and a crawdad!

Then it was back to exploring the river.
We didn't really prepare by bringing swim gear
so Anden opted for undies only with those skinny stick legs.

Aaron did bring his fishing gear.
So he took his wee one and headed out.

Lyndsay and I lost interest long before everyone else did.
So we took Laiklyn and headed back home.
Eventually the men and children came home too.

Outside dinner in the cool weather!

If you notice Laiklyn is in her jammies.
Well that's because even though it's bright outside it's still bedtime.
Ugh it's a love hate that the sun doesn't set there until 10pm!!

Ryan teaching the minions how to whistle with grass.

And there's always time for more rhino rides!

That night Anden asked if he could sleep in his box.
Huh?! Your box?
So he explained that he kept the box from the play dome they built
and he turned it into his little fort.
Normally I would say um no a bed sounds a bit more comfortable.
But hey we're on vacation.

So he made himself a box bed there on the floor and seriously slept in it all night lol
I snuck in later to take a pic of him.
did make him a bed next to it in case
his legs became numb from the lack of circulation!
And then I texted my cousin Lacie, who was en route to dad's house,
to beware of the vagrant child asleep in a cardboard box in the living room.
